Romani looks lost out there. He doesn't have Wakely to feed him the puck. Big decisions have to be made indeed. I say Wakely & Romani both gone and stock the cupboard again.
Romani should fetch a high end 08 at deadline

Doubt it, though it might take an offer to good to refuse before NB parts with Romani. I think the battalion would like Kennedy, Ride, and Romani as OAs next season.

Romani gets moved this year. You can't leave that kind of decision in the hands of the pro team. They choose to sign him at season's end and you end up with squat.

My guess - Romani goes to London

That will be more clear in January. If on pace for 45+ goals & ~90 points, NB is comfortably in 5-7, and Romani shows to be significantly more powerful; he will turn pro.

North Bay needs to trade their veteran players to restock their draft pick cupboard just like Peterborough did last year. If they don’t they will not be competitive for a number of years in the future.

The battalion in no way need to be the worst team for 1.5 seasons like the Petes will.

The battalion have 11 signed ‘06s. They will want goods OAs to compliment them and compete next next season. And develop the younger players in a winning environment.

They aren't going to be great next year. Their good 06's are basically McIvor, Amidovski, and Procyszyn. Should be worried about building around 07's and 08's instead.

Romani had 58 goals and 110 points last year. He won’t put up as many points as last year without Wakely but to say he’s going to be back as an OA is a purely inaccurate statement. He will be in the AHL after this year 100%. Remember he is an 05 not an 06- he never got drafted in his actual draft year and got selected as re entry last year. If he was a 06 yes they’d keep him but 0 chance in hell they risk losing him for nothing when the team looks like it could be a contender again as early as next year.

I disagree. The team can build around the 2007-8 when they are 18-19 yrs old.
I think you are pre-maturely dismissing Therrien and the imports. There are 11 battalion players that will be 19 and have played together for 2-3 seasons. They may not be great individually, but several are quite good and will know how to play together in the battalion system.

Watch the player rather than track point production. Romani is an elite complimentary player that can capitalize on every forced turn over created by his linemates. Right now, Romani cannot drive the play because he is not strong enough or fast enough to shake off good OHL checking.

You can't win in this league without top end talent. We were knocked out in back to back seasons by teams that had players who walked straight on to NHL rosters the next season.

What you're describing is a team that finishes in the middle every year.

The battalion have 5 conference final appearances in 10 seasons; one OHL final, and twice one win from a final. The team did this moving few pieces and/or picks in pretty much every one of the past eleven years. I do not describe the battalion as finishing in the middle every year.
Having said that, I realized Moses would be the fourth RW for the next two seasons if not moving Romani. I now think there is a good chance Romani is moved, and the team look for a high upside C/LW.

Who is above him? I think he is the first line RW if Romani is moved and clearly they think the same thing otherwise they wouldn’t give up Wakely for him and a 4th and 5th

Right now Therien and Amidovski. I move Therien this year if I'm GM if he can put a good stretch of games together. He has the tools and the intensity that an underdog playoff team would value.
