And our hands are tied because of all the conditionals attached to our deal to get his rights. I loved it at the time but now we’re handcuffed.
After what has transpired today and assuming Wright goes to Barrie we may be sitting as fourth “seed” in the East. Hopefully they can get their “struggles” ironed out by then.

IMO, it is North Bay and Ottawa assuming Mintyukov ends up in Ottawa.

I wouldn’t worry about Barrie at this point. They will likely get Wright and add Clarke but they need forwards to surround Clarke.

The Petes are strong but top heavy up front and solid on the back end but not scary solid.

I like the overall depth on NB. A bigger team that can skate and score. I think that will win out over the top heavy roster in Peterborough.

I hope owner Abbott, GM Dennis and the rest of the fan base see what other teams are doing with their veteran players when their teams are not considered "contenders". Trading away in lean years for young players and multiple draft picks only speeds up the the turnaround time to be competitive again.....something that wasn't done in the past.

Absolutely. We have to trade Nelson et al next season for these types of returns.

Great moment with most of the Troops and Podoliukh at the end of the game.
Should have been an easy shutout for Dom today but he’ll surely want the second one back and Nelson can’t blow the zone as the last guy back on the first one.
Another one in the win column.
Curious about both Arnsby and Romani though, I’d hate to see either of them in a potential trade package.

our luck the year we go for it, so do 6 others haha
Tbh, I wouldn't say NB and Adam Denis went for it. I think they went half-in with the trades they made earlier in the year and needed to do more at the trade deadline but failed to do so. It takes conviction and a set of big balls to truly commit to an all-in. NB is deep and has lots of talented players but with what the Pete's and Ottawa did I have them third in the East and likely don't have enough to beat Ottawa (who can match their depth and is so well coached). As a fan of the NBB this is disappointing. The owner and GM owed it to the fans to make that commitment. How can a team go without making more moves to counter what the market/competitors are doing?? to me that's inexperience or incompetence.

This team is good not sure what you’re talking about they might even still be better then the Petes and I’m at Petes fan. They just ran out of picks unfortunately but the players they acquired are good

14 hours still on the clock….should wait it out before turning on your team. Your team has made their trades early and did well IMO

Abbott and Adam Denis traded away lots of picks this year to go half-in. I think they should have waited and been more calculated. If they couldn't go all-in then why not trade away Jackson (would have got you a big return) MacDonald and Winslow? This is the problem you create when you don't truly go for it. Your good enough to win a round in the playoffs but due to what the Pete's and 67's did your likely going to fall short in the second round. And trading away three rostered players and 10 draft picks for Bloom, Hislop and Zito seems expensive and is very costly to win a playoff round. Imo, they could have won a round without making any of those moves. I am just not convinced they played this properly.

Your missing my point. All I am saying is NB management should have been more patient and made a decision on the plan moving forward closer the the trade deadline. I never said the NBB aren't good or they couldn't beat the Pete's. I'm an old guy who's been around hockey for a long time and I know the game is played on the ice and not on paper. All I'm getting at is 3 rostered players, 10 draft picks and you lose in the second isn't success imo. That's it, just my opinion. If they waited and joined in on the Wright, Del Mastro, Beck, Haynes Mintuykov perhaps they could have truly gone all-in.

They aren’t half in your team is loaded. They might have the best depth even up there with Ottawa and Peterborough. Good defence and good goaltending this team is deep and has a good mix of size and skill

Not turning on the team. Just stating some perspective on how I may have been more patient and waited to see about getting in on bigger name players. If Adam Denis sits and does nothing while the Pete's and 67's have improved in a big way then he's failed to execute "Going for it" and instead he's "kind of going for it". NBB is a good team with plenty of talented players. Anything can happen...

To be honest you will see many other minor moves tomorrow now that all the Wright stuff is out of the way.

Ottawa added two players…..all season. Jsut becuase they did it over the last two days doesn’t diminish the team North Bay has pieced together.

The Petes are a two line team with above average defence. If you shut down even one of their two lines, you will beat them. Simple as that.

IMO it will be NB vs Ottawa in the East Final. Two different styles. The best team will prevail. It will be a tough series IMO.

Two different styles for sure. The 67's are structured and positionally sound (more pro like) while NBB plays a unstructured and at times seems out of control (more shinny/chaos like). I'd bet on Dave Cameron over Ryan Oulehen.

But somehow what the Battalion do seems to work...

They play physical enough to slow teams down. Will they get burnt now and then? Sure. But a 7 game series against North Bay is going to be a war. Take that to the bank.

One things for sure, the West and East have there favorites but it's not like last year where everyone knew Hamilton was going to win the OHL (even thou Windsor gave them a series). It's more up in the air this year and that's good for the league.

Trade Day: the West gets stronger?
Wow, big price…

As a sth since day one, it's encouraging to see nine signed players on the roster - it wasn't that long ago when we had none.
