Sudbury has a lot of work to do

not sure Ture will step out of line much when certain players are on the ice
Gimme a break. How long you been watching hockey? I gave Arnsby his credit he’s tough as nails but that was far from a beat down. You guys even watch how the play developed. He wasn’t being a meathead. Toure did his job by stepping up for a teammate. I’m sure he’s shaking in his boots. I would be looking forward to getting a better jump if they go again. Maybe he’s not trained. Use your reach and make it count. Number one advice for a tall guy.
Anyway I don’t see why a minor incident like that is even worthy of this much discussion.

Agree about Sudbury having lot of work to do. Starting with a goalie and a defensive coach (and a GM) but anyone that knows anything about hockey should know the score wasn’t completely indicative. Trade goalies and see what would have happened. Wouldn’t have been 7-3 that’s for sure. See you tomorrow.

The bigger they are the harder they fall.
I’m kidding my friend. See you tomorrow

Outworked badly, plain and simple . Bad trend vs bad teams. All flash, no finish. Kinda like the Blue Jays
No sure “bad” is fair. Considerably lower in the standings sure but the Wolves worked their bushy tails off, facing adversity to boot. Actually the Wolves may have won by a few more if the goalie (dont feel like spelling) didn’t play out of his mind. No cheap ones with this kid. Going to give the team a hell of chance to go a long way. I’ve said before Ottawa should take note. Anyway you can afford to lose a couple points 😉

Sorry bad was a reference to losses vs teams at or near the bottom of the standings. Niagara, Soo and Sudbury and then Oshawa today.

Thoughts on the first half of the season? Surprises? Disappointments?

I would say Ertel has been the best player the last 10-15 games.

Petrov has been a disappointment, was expecting him to dominate.
Really?? Ertle? Petrov is on the third line when he should be playing with Jackson and Bloom. This coach has stifled Petrov in a big way. Ertle is a third line player and Petrov is a first line player. Petrov on pace for 85/90 points and if he played with a true number one centre he would have 40 plus goals and 100 plus points.

Best player Jackson and Christopolous. Underachiever Nelson and Arnsby (7g 14a) not good enough from a high minute guy and your second line center. Nelson has all the talent in the world but he needs to learn to play a pro-style game which would include, composure, better puck movement and distribution - he leaves a lot of passes on the ice for shots. He needs to start thinking the game like a pro and not some elite shinny player. He's too good not to see the ice better and make those plays.

He’s on the second not third. He’s actually on a good line and should produce

Oshawa?? 7 3 win....Junior hockey is riddled with good teams that lose to weaker teams on any given night. These are 16,17, 18 and 19 year old kids. That said, NB is not well structured team and due to this they will breakdown more often against weaker teams. NB tends to rely on talent to win games and not by playing well positionally or structured. If you were to take a deep dive into the analytics my guess is you will find that NB wins more games even thou they are out chanced, outplayed. lower in puck possession and zone time. If this team was coached better and played a structured game with a good forecheck and positionally solid they would be the top team. Team is undisciplined (lots of bad penalties and most from their leadership group). Players have Zero accountability. I can only imagine how this team would look under James Richmond, Marty Williamson, Jay McKee or Dave Cameron. Would be unbeatable.

No sir. Line 1: Jackson, Bloom and Ertle Line 2: Arnsby, Wakely and VanSteensel Line 3: Zito, Petrov and Tarasavich. And if you are saying the second line that's only since Zito's arrival. If you want to look at time on ice Jackson and Petrov (the teams best players) get the lowest minutes played at an average of 15/17 minutes per game while Arnsby, Ertle, Bloom, Wakely and VanSteensel get 19/23 minutes per game. Jackson and Petrov on any other team in this league would be at 20 plus minutes per game.

Agree with this one too. Your points re: Nelson is why he dropped from a potential first rounder last year to the third. Same reasons why Hockey Canada will not likely have any interest in him for the WJHC next year. Too bad because he has so much potential.

My complaint with Petrov is that I was expecting him to be a threat ever time he was on the ice. He's an excellent passer on the PP and has a wicked shot ( when he has time ). To me, he doesn't carry the puck enuf and will stop on a dime if he feels pressure. 85 points is great but is it any better then last year....I want more from him!!

Agree but Jackson and Petrov don’t kill penalties . Outside of that I would think times for top three lines are pretty even

Never saw anywhere creditable that had nelso as a one. High second or third was the concensus

Button also had him in the first in his mid season list.
