From the always popular “players that might have been traded a bit early” files: Owen Outwater of KGN has 2G, 4A 6Pts in 6GP. His 2G are 2 more than the combined total of Nik Sima, Alex Lukin, Anthony Romani, Wyatt Kennedy, Cam Gauvreau, Braden Turley, Jacob Therrien, Brett Bouchard, Ethan Procyszyn, Michael Podolioukh, Paul Christopoulos, and Avery Winslow. This group of 12 goalless players has suited up for a total of 65 games. His 2G are 1 more than the singles recorded by each of Liam Arnsby, Dalyn Wakely, Nikita Tarasevich, Justin Ertel, Kyle McDonald and Owen Van Steensel. Yikes.

its bizarre how niagara has opted to go down the london rout and not give rookies anything. london has high end nhl picks to push rookies down, what does north bay have?

From the even MORE popular "North Bay needs a big trade to shake things up" files:
- If you were in Adam Dennis' office, who do you make a big pitch for, and why?
- You have 6 (5 skaters and Dom ) players that you can declare "untouchable". Which ones do you go for?
- That being said, who do you send home to wait for a trade?

Be interesting to see what the Wise Ones of this thread come up with....I have my popcorn ready and waiting. :thumbu::popcorn::thumbu:

No trade unless BUG becomes available imo. Winslow & MacDonald are back, maybe Mathurin this week. After 17-21 games the coach & GM will know what is missing. There are probably no front line players the battalion would want right now anyways.

you’re kidding? The battalion have 11 (17-18) yr old 2nd yr players. The 1st ‘06 pick has played in all six games, and their first 3rd round pick has dressed for four.

Yes I did. Did you see how much time DiVincentis, Nelson, Mathurin, VanSteensel, Podolioukh, Wakely earned last season? Maybe Romani, Sima, Kennedy, Procyszyn, & Lukin can earn more TOI this year. There is a spot for the taking on both 2nd & 3rd lines and an opportunity for those two D to solidify their spot in the 3rd pairing; or, any of them can lose their spot to additions as the trade deadline nears.

04s vs 05s. they had to play them, they didnt have a choice. is there an honest reason why all the 05s in north bay played so little, was it that they all sucked, or that they made a decision just not to play rookies. you can see the ice time on instat and north bay 05s last year where near the bottom with london

I see Outwater has 2 PP assists...how much PP time does Sims, Romani, Podo...etc get?? Good for Outwater, he's getting a chance to play and produce. Wasn't going to happen here.

Hmm …London develops the most players for the NHL. Last season NB had more drafted to the NHL than any other team in the league. They had ‘04, ‘03, ‘02 drafted and ‘01 sign ELC; OHL as a development league is not just about playing 16 yr olds.

have you seen london's first round picks since the 01 age group. london is a fantastic recruitment organization, they get players to sign that others cannot. bonk told teams he was not coming, george the same, cowan, same thing, so on and so on. thats not drafting, thats recruiting. rolofs, rowe, bulold. evangelista told teams he was not coming but he went where most had him anyways. all their successful nhl guys are recruited, not drafted.

north bay, again, 04s off of a covid season, lets look at the 05s who got no ice time last year and the 06s who wont get any this year. adam dennis is very close with mark hunter, its no surprise they are choosing to go that route, but london has the recruitment that adam dennis does not.

Well, if you win and get kids drafted/signed, you can attract Ertel. Heck, SSM got Virgilio in the 4th and signed

Notes from Wed. afternoon’s workout:

Tnias Mathurin has graduated from red to regular gray gear. He was fully engaged and it looks like he will be good to go Thursday. He was paired with Christo. in defending power play situations, presume they will align, also probably Nelly/Winslow, leaving a 3rd of Lukin with Gauvreau/Hurley/Kennedy. There were spirited 1 on 1 battles right in front of the net. It was interesting to watch Therrien match up with Kennedy, the old top of helmet reaching top of shoulders trick.

I'm sure glad that I saved $100+ by not going to that garbage game tonight.
Lackluster is too nice to describe the effort, I think there's trouble in the Battalion hen house already. Out hit, out muscled, out classed, we "should" beat that team more often than not.
Too many individuals in white sweaters me thinks.

Not to nitpick but Bob Coles is a bit of a local legend and big voice in radio in North Bay. But man oh man he should not be the in arena pa announcer. Multiple mispronounced names. Even credited Brett Bouchard (scratched) with an assist.
