Burns? He's basically a forward.Reilly is nowhere near any of those d-men.

Guess Gio Burns and Karlsson shouldnt be considered either
You are simply underrating him which has occurred for his entire career on here.
He is clearly a top-end D. And he was last year as well. (53 points without PP time).
Is this some kind of new language? Or, like, some secret code? Where “53 points without PP time” translates into...
- 167 power play minutes
- 52 points
- 25 power play points?
That's the outlier though. Most years points is huge. And Doughty should have never won that year.I don't see why points are such an important metric for this year. When Doughty won he was barely top 10 for points by a defensemen. If Gio keeps up his high level, two-way play he should get a lot of Norris votes.
If Gio stays within 5-6 points of the point leaders at the end of the season (Dmen), it’s hard for me to see how he wouldn’t get the Norris.
Rielly wont even finish top 5 in voting. This is Girodano's year. He is beasting on all sides of the puck
Eh - he's a #1, but not a great one.Reilly will never win the Norris. He is a good #2 at best imo.
To me, Kris Letang has been the best defenseman in the league this year. Haven't seen him defend this well, in well maybe forever.
Very gaudy possession stats to back it up.
Eh - he's a #1, but not a great one.
Giordano should have it well in hand at this point. He's got the best case outside points in my opinion, and he's right up there in that category as well.If Gio stays within 5-6 points of the point leaders at the end of the season (Dmen), it’s hard for me to see how he wouldn’t get the Norris.
Yeah, Letang has been ridiculous so far this year. He's the clear runner up at the moment in my opinion.Letang will never get the credit he deserves because people automatically default to "he plays with Crosby and Malkin, easy to rack up points with them", but he's been arguably the Pens' MVP this year.
Eh - he's a #1, but not a great one.
