I'm excited for this but wish that it weren't happening concurrently with Game One.

Thunderbirds look good in their series. It's a shame as I wouldn't mind watching more of them but it feels like every game is on the exact same time as the Kraken in this play off run.

Scott Servais wearing a Kraken sweater in today's postgame presser after winning the series against the Laughstros.

EDIT: and is going to the game tonight! GO KRAKENS.

I'm for this. If you get Stanford to then you basically have a west coast division in the Big 10. Maybe Notre Dame eventually join too. I'd rather play Ohio t, Michigan etc than the Arizona teams or Utah. I imagine the TV money would be good too.

As long as we can still have the apple cup as a non conference game.

And Notre Dame is not in the B1G..

Keeping UCLA, USC, Oregon and adding in Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State & Wisconsin sure sounds good but you also have to then play Illinois, Northwestern, Indiana, Maryland, Rutgers, Iowa, Minnesota which isn't attractive.

They are not but I imagine they may eventually jump, same with Stanford. I think the Pac is dying. It sounds like they can't get a TV deal on par with the Big12. There biggest market teams are leaving. I think if Oregon and Washington want to stay competitive they need to jump.

I went to the UW softball game on Friday. On Sunday they were down 6-0 in the last inning. Scored 7 unanswered to win and advance to the super regionals. First time that's ever happened in NCAA history for it to happen in one inning.

Way better than their last trip, that's for sure.
Is it just me or does it seem unfair that the hosts of the tournament get a spot? They didn't earn it. If they win the Memorial cup it'll feel hollow.

It’s tradition. But there have been scenarios where the host team won their league Championship as well. In cases like that the runner up goes to the tournament as well.

It does seem like it would have made more sense for the Big10 and Pac12 big programs to leave their respective conferences and setup a brand new one. I get losing the tradition, but it seems like to get maximum dollars and a good footprint, which is also a consideration since it's not just the quality of the competition, but also viewership.

Pac12 - USC, UCLA, Oregon, Washington, Stanford (name recognition & location in NorCal) and maybe one of the Arizona Schools.
Big10 - Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin, Minnesota, either Illinois or Northwestern,

Plus whichever other 4 schools in the 2 conferences that make sense, or add a ND. For the footprint, Colorado, Utah, Iowa.
