I liked Kendricks, and he was great for us. But this cap clearing move was needed, he had lost a step and Ed Donattel's 3-4 did not work with his brand of LB in any way.

Still running the 3-4 and Kendricks isn't a 3-4 style LB. Flores runs a very aggressive man heavy 3-4. Big reason why PP2 was one of the first to go this offseason. He wasn't great in zone, but hasn't been a threat in man coverage in 8 years or so now.

Well no, he isn't but Flores also runs out of a base 3-4 more than anyone in the league and he's bringing that here. So it made sense that Kendrick wouldn't be the guy under his heavier and more aggressive 3-4.

RBs are a dime a dozen... just draft another in the 3rd round, watch him jump to be a feature back like Cook.

Its not all that surprising even before his request and selling his house. The way his contract was/is constructed it looked more like a year deal from the start, Very little dead cap if we were to cut or trade him.
