Cover 2 is still pretty common, especially for teams that struggle with man coverage which our D has proven time and again, it was incapable of doing.
The Bills play Cover 2 quite a bit... no surprise considering Frazier is their D coordinator, but they have far superior players back there, so they have a lot more success. They can mix in man coverage and do very well.

It's not Cover 2 alone that's the problem, it's the fact that most of our secondary is slow as hell, both in reaction time and in actual speed.
It had been awhile but this is what I was referencing:

Most teams (back then) employed a cover 1 or a cover 3.

This is also old, but slightly newer...
Also of note, 2 high coverage (both cover 2 and cover 4) is way up in recent years...

Good value and they need pitching, but sucks to see Arraez go

I guess any time you can trade a 25 year old batting champ, you probably have to do it.

I guess it's what you gotta do to get good pitching. Hopefully now between Ryan, López, Gray, Mahle and maybe the rookie Balazovic, they can actually get some quality starts this year. Then again with Rocco coaching em it's not gonna matter if they only get 5 innings.

Cant help but feel like the SB champ comes outta the NFC this year.

I dunno. I do think both the AFC QBs are better than the NFC QBs of the teams left, so I wouldn't rule them out.

I thought there were only 5 good teams this season (PHI, SF, BUF, KC, and CIN). The rest were were all bad to meh. DAL and MN looked to me like paper tigers all season.

Current Super Bowl Odds:

Kansas City +250
Cincy +260
Philly +260
San Fran +310

Way tighter than usual at this point, super hard to make a choice now. Right now I want to say Philly is winning it, but I also have no confidence in that. I do think they beat San Fran, Brock Purdy hasn't seen a road game or a defense like this in his career, and you could you see the Cowboy's pass rush shook him yesterday a bit.

Burrow and Mahomes is going to electric regardless.

Wonder what KCs odds were before Mahomes injury, If it changed at all. Both Championship games should be outstanding. I really believe we got 4 of the best teams playing this upcoming weekend. Wish Mahomes was 100% healthy for this matchup. Mahomes and Andy Reid are so easy to root for for me.

Eagles and Niners are just so good and deep along the DL and OL its ridiculous, and theyre healthy. Thats why im leaning towards the NFC this year. Nick Bosa and that deep Eagles DL should feast going up against the Bengals OL if they make it. Bills pass rush kinda feel off once Von got hurt, which is surprising because we got "how good and deep that Bills DL is" shoved down our throat all offseason. Jalen Hurts, while not being in that Burrow, Mahomes, Allen level is no slouch either.

Mahomes injury is the big question.
Agreed, Id be leaning KC this weekend if Mahomes was 100% but he isnt so im leaning towards the Bengals.

The Broncos traded a 2023 1st (29oa) + 2024 2nd to the Saints for Sean Payton + 2024 3rd.

Because they couldn't get either of the 2 coaches they wanted instead, they got desperate and threw away assets.
Dumb move last year after not getting the QB they wanted, then got desperate and threw away both assets and money for Wilson, now do the same this year for a coach.

I didn't even know you could trade coaches. I mean, I suppose it makes sense but has it been done before?
Yes! Gruden was traded from the Raiders to the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay traded two firsts, two seconds and 8 million. He then beat the Raiders in the Super Bowl the following season.

Also Patriots traded for Belicheck.

Don Shula was the first back in 1970.
The Dolphins poached Shula from the Colts before the 1970 season. It wasn’t originally a trade, but the NFL ruled that Miami violated tampering rules and made the team send a first-round pick to Baltimore in exchange for the coach’s rights. The trade ended up working out well for all parties involved.
That set the precedent moving forward.
