Team needed to get a dose of reality and punched in the jaw.

When Darrisaw left, it was over, although likely was before then. Brutal that he is out Thursday, too.
We saw the exact same thing vs the Bills through 3 quarters, then the Bills got sloppy and the Vikes managed 2 miracles in a single game, and still needed Josh Allen to screw it up at the end to win it.

That should've been a reality check right there, but it turned into the "signature win" instead.

Can't count on miracles every week though.

Well, you can, but only if they're fishes!

Agreed for the most part. So much went wrong at the end of that Bills game (12 men on the field, no review, etc) that it’s hard to say what would have happened if we have another 4th down from the half yard line but your point stands.

We will see how we react on Thursday. Going to have to find a way to move the ball Thursday against a really good defense with no left side of our line. Those of us that gamble, the under might be intriguing considering New England needed a walk off punt return to beat the Jets 10-3 yesterday.

My initial thought would be to tease New England to +10.5 with the under up to 49.5

Man, that’s nearly right where I am at. If the over hits 49.5, then something terrible happened.

2-0 start on the WC bets, up 4.5u this far. USA ML is the spookiest yet but they have been the better side here.

US pretty disappointing, overall. They were lucky not to lose... Bale was just preparing to loft it over the goalies head, before he was fouled. That would've been two bad mistakes leading to goals. Now they are up against it to get through, in a weak pool.

I think Iran is better than they looked against England, and has a chance to win a game.

I have to admit, as a perennial fan of underdogs, I might be more of a fan of Wales than the US. I liked the Donovan teams, not so much this one.
Any rhyme or reason as to why? The team seems to be pretty likeable, imo. I liked Tim Weah, He seemed to be a decent player. I think if we get knocked out I'll root for England, watched them a crap ton during the Euros. I did find myself rooting for Senegal earlier today as well. They have some cool looking unis.

Battled out a win, I'll take it.
That’s a tough defense, most metrics have them as the best defense in the league. Kirk played well, aside from that feet-shuffling overthrow and a few other questionable balls he got lucky on, but 30-37 for 299 and 3 TDs is a great stat line against that team. Dalvin looked atrocious. Never comfortable, dancing at the LOS and even though he had 22 carries, his yards/carry finished below 2. The loss of Darrisaw was apparent but they did a good job of getting rid of ball quickly, only one sack taken.

Now our defense was abysmal. That’s an awful offense that scored 3 points last week against the Jets, and we made Mac Jones look like 2021 Aaron Rodgers. Understanding that we’re missing our best interior OL, and 3 of our top 5 corners, we got no pressure until the final 2 drives which is required when we have a secondary this bad. Donnatel is in over his head it seems and they must shore that up in the off-season.

They made a concerted effort to get rid of it quick, knowing our secondary was terrible. We couldn't get pressure most of the game, because they weren't holding onto the ball long enough to allow us to get pressure.

You said Cousins was getting rid of it quick, Jones was getting rid of it quicker. It wasn't until the end that they started getting desperate and were forced to run longer developing routes, then surprise, the rush gets home.

I'll take the tie. Most people I came accross thought England would route us.
Absolutely. US looked vg. Pulisic played the best i've seen him for a long time. Unlucky not to have scored on that shot that hit the crossbar. England got exposed, IMO. Southgate plays guys like Mount, Grealish and Rice, when he has players like Maddison, Foden, and Wilson sitting on the bench.....
