Vikings-Avs fan here. Haven been around here before but let me say.

Vikings fans got way too excited about week 1. It was amazing and made me cautiously optimistic, but I am a 40 year old Vikings fan. I know we aren't winning this year. I was let down a bit by our anemic offense in week 2
after week 1, but these things happen.

Cousins isn't the answer, I think we all know this. He doesn't have the balls to throw to the markers on 3rd down and will instead repeatedly check down for the completion %.

EK, Harry etc are old. Our defense will have to be rebuilt. As bad as the offense was last week, Ed Donatelle really worries me. I don't think he has what it takes either. This Bend & Break defense is pathetic.

I'm glad we moved on from Zimmer and I will give this crew time to settle in, but if they can't put together a formula that is trending correctly in 3 years, I'll just stick to watching hockey again. Minnesota sports fans f***ing deserve better. And I hate the word "deserve".

Not sure who you think got too excited. I came in here after week 1 ripping our secondary to shreds because they were so bad. To me, the week 2 outcome was completely expected.

As for Cousins, I think it's been clear for a long time he isn't the answer... Again, not sure who thinks he was...

Most that I know think of Cousins as a middle of the pack QB, who has gotten slightly smarter as he has aged. Unfortunately, he has also gotten less mobile.

I think you can win a SB with him, but you'd need a hell of a team surrounding him. I think we've got the receivers, RB's, but the O line is a work in progress. D has some strengths, but i'm with you on the secondary. They look awful...what i'd give for an Antoine Winfield! Also think that we are only an injury of two away from having a terrible defense.

If Trent Dilfer could win a SB, then with the right team, just about anyone could.

ou rsecondary isnt great but the thing that concerned me the most was the lack of pressure hunter and smith got on Hurts. mobile QBs are the new thing, we need to find a way to break through. our secondary is not great by any means but either properly contain the qb in the pocket or get to him quicker.

Didn't they have a legendary defense? Also, in a different era, where the secondary could more or less mug receivers w/o a flag.

No, that was 2000... the passing game was already opened up by that point which is why guys like Randy Moss and Marvin Harrison were getting so many receptions in that era. This wasn't like the 80's and much of the 90's. Late 90's and on is when the passing game went nuts.

Yes, it was a legendary defense, but that's why is said "with the right team" just about anyone could.

Yes, the only one better than the 85 Bears. IIRC the 2000 Ravens gave up 970 rushing yards all season.

No. That era was in the 1970s and before, into the 1980s. The 1990s through 2000s didn't allow Raiders style defense, it just wasn't as penalty happy as today.

Nice of the Badgers to get their annual humiliation to OS out of the way early this year. :surrender

Remember from 1993-2004 when Wisconsin went 5-5-1 against Ohio State? Oh how the times have changed. They showed a graphic of the number of 4-5 star recruits for each team. Ohio State had 66 and Wisconsin had 20. That gap is sure to widen with paying players becoming a thing.

Normally a 14-0 deficit would be considered absolutely embarrassing, but while I would say the Vikes are not playing well at all, this Detroit team is actually legitimate.

Also, very exciting start for the Gophers. They could win the division before getting blown out against Ohio State.

Lucky Detroit opted for the terrible FG decision.

As a Detroit fan, I don't mind it. They already turned it over on downs minutes before. 54-yarder or not that is the kicker's job.

Doesn't mean Minnesota still couldn't have pulled it out. Our defense is still the worst part of our team.

Was expecting to lose and still have reasonable expectations for this season. But I'm frankly shocked that we almost pulled this out.

Just seems like the worst of the 3 options upside/downside-wise.

Heads are rolling...

The NFL Players Association reportedly took a stronger stance of opposition in how the situation was handled in Miami last weekend. The union fired the independent neurologist who helped clear Tagovailoa against the Bills, according to Pro Football Talk on Saturday.
The reported move follows a strong statement Friday from union president JC Tretter, who said, “We are all outraged by what we have seen the last several days and scared for the safety of one of our brothers. What everyone saw both Sunday and last night were “no-go” symptoms within our concussion protocols.
“We need to figure out how and why the decisions were made last Sunday to allow a player with a “no-go” symptom back on the field.”

Gotta get players worth a damn first. Otherwise I don't care who the coach is, they're going to look terrible on defense.
I’d say our personnel on defense Is above average and they’re playing terribly
