Also how many times he has to retire first.
Rodgers also has to start referring to himself in the 3rd person. I mean, he's basically Favre w/o the southern accent. The arm is there, the ego, the drama...

Kendricks and O'Neill had some interesting comments on the team's culture.

Asked about Vikings' culture, Eric Kendricks says, 'I don't think a fear-based organization is the way to go'

Kendricks:
"Because there's a lot of stressors that become involved when you lose games and people's emotions get tied into things," Kendricks said. "A culture where communication is put at the forefront and no matter what your role is on the staff, you having a voice and being able to communicate things that you think could help facilitate wins. I think just having that voice, no matter how big your role is, is important, to listen up and take each other's feelings into account. I don't think a fear-based organization is the way to go."

Asked about his relationship with Zimmer, Kendricks said: "We had a great run. It's hard to know that — I felt like there were some things left out there as far as our relationship is concerned. I think that's a question you've got to ask him, for sure."

O'Neill:
Right tackle Brian O'Neill said he has "a ton of respect and gratitude" for Spielman and Zimmer. But the first-year team captain also revealed what a young Vikings locker room was missing under previous leadership.
"It could be something as little as, 'Hey, how you doing?,' in the hallway," O'Neill said. "We spend so much time together and the season is so long that little personal things here or there could make a huge difference for a young guy, or a rookie who is coming in and isn't really sure how he fits or if he belongs. Little different personal things like that because guys play their best when they feel good about themselves and their role within a team."
O'Neill said some positive energy is welcomed at TCO Performance Center.
"Kind of just an overall culture shift," O'Neill said. "Getting everybody pushing in the same direction and working together in a collaborative environment that's enjoyable to work in. I think some more energy throughout the building could be a good thing."

Why does Indianapolis always seem to get the big college football and basketball games? Same question for the NFL combine, why is that always in Indy.

I realize the NCAA is headquartered there, but why would that matter?

I've heard that the area surrounding the venue is fantastic (i.e. hotels, etc.). I think that makes a massive difference.

A Rod will restructure his deal after he gets what he wants. Right now I'm guessing that is out of GB and whoever trades for him also signs Adams as a FA. I think his days in GB are done. He'll probably be traded to an AFC team (Denver, PIT, or Browns as a dark horse).

Wilson is the QB MN needs. His mobility would cover up a lot of the o-line deficiencies.

many sources said spielman was gonna be promoted earlier this year and then the zimmer issues made them toss him with zimmer. sounds like a fresh new look at coaching is what the players are wanting. hopefully Flores makes it past the chicago interview and we snag him up!

They need to jettison some contracts, and those are usually attached to veteran players. To those whom much is given, much will be required.

I think the GM will get hired before the coach....I do wonder why Miami decided to let Flores go considering he seemed to have the Dolphins going in the right direction.

indeed they were at least quoted as saying GM before HC so the GM can be in on the search. Flores out is at least rumored to be tied to Harbaugh being plucked from michigan as the owner apparently loves him. He did shoot that rumor down however like you said with how the Dolphins were going i dont see why Flores was fired.

They said GM before HC, but they also said the head coach search won't wait for a GM either. They're starting interviews etc for a HC as well... just the GM hire will take place first so the GM can have a say.

Need to know 2 things before thinking about tossing Cousins out the door:

1. Is he willing to re-structure?
2. Is Rodgers still in Green Bay after this season?

1: probably not, he seems like very unbradylike.
2: it appears more so that he is out the door rather than staying in Green Bay.

I would bet a large sum of money that he restructures in some capacity. There is a difference in restructuring and taking a pay cut, albeit they can be synonymous with one another. He has no reason not to restructure.

Rodgers still has one year left on his deal and the price to acquire him should be astronomical. Funny enough, the Jets have a ton of draft capital.

depending on the new hires he could develop reasons not to restructure. the issue i have with a restructure is that most likely means an extension for kirk and that is the last thing i would want from him.

Possible for both scenarios, but I would be shocked if he didn't convert money to a signing bonus to at least free something up at the minimum. I am on the side that right now you're not going to find a better solution at the position, and frankly he had a decent season. Definitely has his faults, and him not freeing up money is just counterproductive to his own play. Convert as much as he can to a signing bonus (if the Wilf's are willing) and upgrade that interior line. Loaded guard and center FA class. Connor Williams, and Brian Allen for starters.

if he is smart he does that as it only helps him, he just strikes me as a greedy guy who is not going to restructure for anything but his own personal gain in an extension rather than thinking similar to brady and doing it to upgrade the team around him.

Is it common to retire numbers for guys that have been retired for 39 years?
