$49 million for 1.0 fWAR over the life of the contract. Oops.
5. Toronto Blue Jays
Projected Lineup: CF George Springer, 2B Marcus Semien, SS Bo Bichette, RF Teoscar Hernandez, 1B Vladimir Guerrero Jr., LF Lourdes Gurriel Jr., 3B Cavan Biggio, DH Rowdy Tellez, C Danny Jansen
Bench: C Alejandro Kirk, IF Joe Panik, OF Jonathan Davis, OF Randal Grichuk
Already a dangerous lineup with a dynamic young offensive core of Bo Bichette, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Teoscar Hernandez, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. and Cavan Biggio, the Toronto Blue Jays joined the ranks of the game's elite by signing George Springer and Marcus Semien in free agency.
Rowdy Tellez posted a 140 OPS+ with eight home runs and 23 RBI in 127 plate appearances last year, and he's going to hit eighth in the lineup.
The only real question offensively is Danny Jansen at catcher, and he could wind up splitting time with offensive standout Alejandro Kirk before the season is over.
If all the pieces fit together seamlessly, this group could make a run at the No. 1 spot.
Pretty great day for the kids in the second half of the game.
Also, another boss outing for Trent Thornton. Could be quite the power packed pen, despite Yates’ injury.
Maybe so, yeah.I see Thornton working his way back into the rotation as soon as they realize that Roark still sucks and Thornton has proven he can go at least 5 or 6 innings repeatably.
Unrelated note, as you want Bergen and Espinal to make the team.
Espinal with 5 RBIs in one inning today.
And....
If you were in a dynasty keeper baseball league, 5 keepers, and you had 4th overall pick and the choices were.. Snell 1 so u have a choice of Moncada/Fried/Alberto Mondesari or go off the board and take that Kelenic kid from Seattle
For a potential 10 year keeper... would you go with the kid over them?
Luca Tresh
North Carolina State
C
BA pick: This almost feels like the start of another tier in the class, given the players who have gone in front of the Blue Jays. Perhaps a few players still on the board like Florida outfielder Jud Fabian or prep righthander Andrew Painter fit in that tier, but I’m going with the hottest hitting prospect to start the year out of the first round: Luca Tresh.
Tresh has hit .339/.394/.729 through 15 games this season, with seven home runs. He produces loud exit velocities off the bat and has a swing that both scouts and analytical departments seem to like—while potentially being able to handle the game’s most demanding defensive position. The defense is what scouts are still bearing down on, with some scouts saying he could go in front of where fellow North Carolina State catcher Patrick Bailey went last year (No. 13) if a team believes in the defense.
Definitely would go with Kelenic. Likely has the biggest impact this year alreadyIf you were in a dynasty keeper baseball league, 5 keepers, and you had 4th overall pick and the choices were.. Shapiro has high standards.

Roark getting DFA’ed after 5 or 8 starts with a 6.50 ERA is about the most predictable thing in Jays history. Hopefully those starts don’t come back to bite the team in September.
My 2nd hot take of the Spring:
Prior to any trades, Roark proves his worth and provides value to the rotation where he is 3rd on the team in innings pitched and 4th in starting fWAR.
How would people feel drafting Luca Trash with our pick? I'd be fine with it, but he's not the typical college hitter profile I favor (high contact/low strikeout, long track record, wood bat performance). Exit velos are encouraging though, and his short track record due to backing up may mean there's more growth there.BA with their second mock for the 2021 draft.

Right now my top choice is Sam Bachman but he looks like he's rising out of our range.
Others I like for our pick Josh Baez, Mason Black, Ryan Cusick, Benny Montgomery, Henry Ford, Joe Rock.
