I know you were trying to be dismissive, but what do previous captains acting like clowns have to do with our current captain? Are you suggesting that Jets captain all share bizarre trait because they are Jets captains?
i wasn't being dismissive. i had no clue what you're talking about.
my post was in response to someone saying our former "esteemed" captains would be embarrassed by this loss.

I'm still annoyed by it too. We have underperforming talent and we give away a guy who makes talent better (who was also playing really well) for free.

Agree, but PoMo was not going to play him. Not this year, not next year, not ever.

I read yesterday that Boudreau was threatening to pick his lineup out of a hat in protest at the scraps Fenton left him with. Starting to think PoMo should do the same.

i literally stated that i was not being dismissive. other than sacrificing 2 turtle doves on a fiery alter, not sure what else you would need from me.
(that was dismissive)

What I don't understand is why Hayes was playing with Perreault and Ehlers. If he was brought in as a number 2 center, he needed either Connor or Laine on his other wing. There aren't a lot of games left before the playoffs to build chemistry.
Ehlers should go back with Scheif and Wheeler and have Connor with Hayes and Laine .

That PK on the game tieing goal was a disaster. Scheifele did nothing. Just stood there screening the goalie and allowing the pass to the slot.

I love Scheifele, I'm probably one of his biggest fans, but sometimes lately he looks exactly like that gif of Ovi a few years back that someone made from a video game where he is coasting back on the back check with a 'Controller Off' graphic. Which was on an important game.

Now having said this, he is getting us points and this goes against my earlier point about some players looking busy but not accomplishing much. With the more talented players, it's more like the "Give a shit" meter.

I hate losing at home , it should be almost a given we win at home . At the very least if we lose the visiting team should be battered and bruised and not want to come back .

It was our identity last year. I never worried about us giving late game leads last year. This year, I'm clenching.
This begs the obvious question that everyone has asked already: how does your identity change from dominating any opponent to barely scraping by, when the personnel largely remains the same?

It can't be, nor is it, all Enstrom and Armia being gone. This seems to be about commitment as a unit, and boy, is that annoying to watch.

Scheif and Wheeler need to cut their shifts down and GET OFF THE PK !!!! I like Maurice but these 2 things are major fail for Maurice . We don't need them killing penalties we have lots of forwards that can PK and Scheif and Wheeler aren't good enough at killing penalties . :shakehead

Enstrom is a big one, but he was injured enough last year that it doesn't explain it all.

Not only is the team largely the same, but as young as they are, they are another year older and experienced. They should be better, not worse.

It was really nice to see 4 lines that looked pretty good out there last night, but the "give a crap" meter really has to go up for the whole team.

Have we ever heard Maurices rationale for that Pk? Maybe Hayes will take over eventually....idk. It does seem weird.

Some of our issues would definitely be helped with Buff playing , not all but some . If Buff was on the ice when the winning goal was scored someone would have been knocked on their ass before they could just stand and whack away at the frickin puck .
