That PK on the game tieing goal was a disaster. Scheifele did nothing. Just stood there screening the goalie and allowing the pass to the slot.

Nothing to add about the last few minutes last night — it was ugly, but it’s not like it’s new for this year. 2016-17 throwback.
I’d sit Myers and/or Kuli and plug Bogdan and/or Poolman in to calm things down on the back end and get 55/26 under 20 mins a game and off the PK, esp with Hayes in the lineup. He’s a rental, let’s get value out of him. PoMo needs to take back the reigns, and soon.

I think Roslovic will be a good player but right now he looks lost out there especially defensively . He's not the only one and we aren't losing because of him but it may be time to let him sit a couple of games . I hear Par can play defense , maybe give him a look .
I found it curious all the pre trade deadline talk about teams all asking for Roslovic. I like the player but he has not been very impactful IMO. I see a player that skates like the wind but doesn't seem to do much else. He doesnt get points and he seems weak defensively. I'll defer to Garrett if the analytics show otherwise? Is it just the potential everyone sees?

We are not getting to the high danger areas offensively like we were last year.
I am sure there is plenty of blame to go around but If this team continues as is and flames out in round 1 I have no idea if you can bring back Maurice and give him a chance to rebound.
The analytics GAR rank him behind Petan and Appton in terms of impact. Agree right now I see a player with good skating and some nice tools but the toolbox hasn't developed yet. I think Maurice tends to put too much of an emphasis on physical ability and to some extent undervalues smarts.

Yes, losing Morrissey and Buff is a massive blow. But it has been 1 game with both guys out. That does not explain the other 25 or whatever clueless games played by this "top cup contender".
Looking at regular stats AND advanced stats, what about this team is elite this season? The PP I guess. Still 4th best in the league.
For all the vaunted depth and having the potential to have 3 scoring lines...they are only 8th in GF. GA 14th. Our Vezina goalie sits 33rd in GAA and 27th in Save%. PK is 22nd. 19th in shots per game but 28th in Shots against.

What I don't understand is why Hayes was playing with Perreault and Ehlers. If he was brought in as a number 2 center, he needed either Connor or Laine on his other wing. There aren't a lot of games left before the playoffs to build chemistry.
