Listening to the fans on the radio is kind of funny though. I would have preferred to keep Hall but some of these fans are ridiculous.

Larson is not even good, he never lived up to his draft hype. Hall is edmontons best player right now until Mcdavid would take over this year. Hall drives the play and is a top 5 lw in the league. Larson is a number 4 dman, this will go down as one of the worst trades ever

This was the response I expected to any legitimate hockey trade. Oilers still suck, what an overpay, Chiarelli is a loser.

The Oilers took one step closer to filling out their D with an excellent young player. That's a fact and I don't know how it can be ignored.

Hall is one of the best wingers in the game. Larsson is NOT one of the best defensemen in the game.

the worst part for of this for Edmonton is Lucic will be replacing Hall.

strange trade but opens up and extra $3 mil or so to sign Lucic. if so then we traded more offense for some needed top RD and i don't believe we've seen the best from Larsson yet. so it could be Lucic + Larsson for Hall.

Edmonton fans, you will be happy with this trade later. Hall is a bit of overpayment but Larsson has some attributes that youre backend really need and stabilize. You have to give to get, and NJ wouldnt never trade Larsson if you didnt overpay. You guys got Pulju coming, Lucic. Edmonton will do fine without Hall.

I like it, think both teams will be winners in this one.

Yeah I definitely think this makes Edmonton better. They can afford to give up some good forwards to address their defense. This would be a good trade if NJ had added just a depth player or even a draft pick. 1 for 1 it's hard not to feel like Edmonton gave up a star player for a very good player. Larsson is and will probably always be a tier below the true #1 d-men.
