Bad deal for edmonton i think because you just traded your second best player who's worth a ton for a young and good defenceman, altho one who won't change your defence.

Also, didn't a guy yesterday on edmonton radio say they were trading for Larsson and everyone said he's full of crap?

Steal for EDM actually. Larsson is a stud #2D, and he'll hit 40+ points with the Oilers. Expect him manning the PP too.

He had 18 points this season and on the hero chart he is nothing more than a top 4 at best. Hall is a top line winger. NJ won this trade by ALOT and anyone saying anything else cant be serious.

I seem to be in the minority here but I don't think this is a bad deal for Edmonton. Larsson may not be a bonafide #1 but he has plenty of time to develop into an elite top pairing defender. Still only 23 and now signed long term at a very reasonable cap hit.

Hall's a great player and NJ should be happy with this but given Edmonton's need for help on D I think this is a very mutually beneficial deal.

Larsson was a +15 last season on a team that didn't make the playoffs. He is only 23 years old. People need to look beyond Hall's point totals, this is not a terrible deal.

Oilers fans should be thrilled. Larsson with Sekera will be a great pair. Or Larsson with Klefbom is good too on the PP.

Larsson will lift the Oilers PK unit tremendously.

Oilers became a better team. Maybe a playoff team this year if Puljujarvi is a stud and their top lines stay healthy. Defensively they're just really significantly better now.
