But I'm not. No one thinks Larsson is a top 2. Compare him with the rest of the top 2 in the league and let's see how many you choose Larsson over.

Trading Hall for him is an embarrassment. Chia is an absolute ****ing moron.

Make a bit more sense for me if you count Larsson cap space I guess. Weird day nonetheless.

RNH would have made a alot more sense. Edmonton have to many centers, not to many forwards.

Erikson was a better return the Larsson is back when the seguin trade happened. Mark my words this time next year Larsson is much closer to a mark fayne on our team then an elite dman. I'm not saying he is mark fayne, just he's a number 4 defensive dman, not what you trade your superstar forward for.

Klefbom and sekera are both better dman than him on our team right now.

I was right. Hamonic could of gotten Hall straight up.

Comparing the Jones for Johansen trade was spot on.

The only difference is... I think Johansen returned more value!

I remember those 2 threads when it was me vs 80 oiler fans calling -me- the idiot.

Hf board mob mentality at it's finest .

Oilers player are worth nothing trade one for a top 2 RHD and the Oilers are idiots and should have gotten more . There were people arguing that the Oilers should trade Hall for Hamonic . Do they realize Hamonic had 3 concussion and another would like end his career . I take Larsson all day long over Hamonic .

He was top pairing on NJ and Greene wasn't carrying him.
 
Apparently I'm the minority but I think this is a good deal for both teams. Right now the Devils get a better player but I still believe in Larsson's upside. I think the Oilers are very happy with this in a few years from now.

Taylor Hall is a very good straight line, drive the net player but he'll just get in McDavids way with his lack of hockey sense. Assuming this opens the door for Lucic, I think the Oilers get better.

I never liked the idea of moving either of the centres, it had to be Eberle or Hall for me.

lol not even close. And Eriksson was awful, that is easily one of the worst trades in the history of the game. He's far better than Sekera, and possibly Klefbom. I know oilers fans are really high on Klef, but from what i've seen i put Larsson ahead of him quite easily.

I am, but damn is Lars getting unfairly bashed here.

All anybody is looking at points. He played on, by far, the worst offensive team in the league. But also one the best defensive teams in the league. And he played a MAJOR part in that. His skating will always hold him back from being elite. That's why he will never be a number 1. But he is exactly the kind of player you need to win.

Agreed. So many people on these boards are misinformed. Hall is an overpay, but I would rather trade Hall for Larsson than one year of Shatty and 3 years of Hamonic as my top pairing defensemen. Jason Demers is slightly worse if not the same as Hamonic.

Im not a fan of either team but have watched NJ a good amount this season(im a NYR fan). NJ won this trade by alot. Hall is top 3 LW in the NHL. Larsson isnt anything more than a #3 at best. I would rate him as a very good #4. Giving up one of the best offensive players in the league for him is stupid on so many levels. Gonna hate playing against NJ and see Hall destroy Girardi....

Larsson can play top 2 minutes. Maybe he shouldn't be just yet but he can. The potential is absolutely there though to be an excellent #2.
