Xenoblade is a game I have never played and have been meaning to. I guess it's time to get going on those.

Pretty solid overall.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will be a buy for me.
I might check out the new Kirby game.
Triangle Strategy was already a buy for me.
I'll finally play through Earthbound now
Wii Sports on Switch is pretty neat (IMO at least)
Live A Live looks pretty cool.
New tracks for Mario Kart 8.... I mean, It's 48 tracks for $25. People can complain about them putting a price tag on top of that, but at the end of the day that's a LOT of damn tracks. More than what you would get in a brand new Mario Kart game.

Like others I was hoping for a Mario Kart 9 announcement though.

The obvious downside is that there definitely won't be a Mario Kart 9 for the very foreseeable future. Maybe a Switch 2 launch title at the earliest at this point.

Still no BotW2 news isn't too surprising, but it's hard to not feel worried about its development given how little we've gotten. Granted, they could announce it for December 2022 as late as this summer and still have a half a year to hype it up to hell and back, so I don't see it as indicative of anything that it wasn't included. If we don't hear anything by the 4th of July, that's when I'll start worrying.

I mean MK8D will have almost 100 tracks by the time this is said and done. MK9 would have way too much to live up to at this point.

I wonder how much of that 48 tracks is going to be gutted from Tour.

There's a lot of great tracks in the history of that series but 48 is a huge order to fill and will almost assuredly deplete the list for Mario Kart 9, whenever it does come out.

Well one they showed off was a Tour exclusive track, and honestly a few of the others look exactly like the Tour versions

Square's quest to put every RPG of theirs that isn't FF1-6 is coming along beautifully.

I have an impossible time imagining that they won't eventually put the Pixel Remasters on the Switch. They probably just want to milk the mobile and PC market as long as possible before finally releasing them on the consoles, which would be their biggest bread and butter.

If any game doesn't need fan hype to sell ridiculous copies, it's BoTW 2. They could literally just say it is coming out tomorrow and it will break 10m sales insanely fast and probably hit close to 20m overall. The original has sold like 25m while rarely going on sale.

What I wonder is if they ever plan to do HD-2D remakes finally. Especially with how Live a Live looks.

The FF6 pixel remaster has some 3D in the opera scene so you wonder if it's something they are considering.

Chrono Trigger is another that comes to mind

I mean they really should've announced that from the get go but it's Square, I don't trust them to make rational decisions. I do hope they're coming at some point.

I think it's a greed thing. They want people to double dip, but they don't think that people would buy them multiple times concurrently. They've even been coy about it and claimed to the effect of any future console release would depend on the reception of games on the mobile and PC platforms, as if it'd cost them a lick of extra money to port them over compared to the profits on all three consoles.

I'll probably hold out on FF6PR until the end of the year before getting it on my iPad if a Switch version isn't announced.

Nintendo keeps looking out for us boomer jrpg fans. Front Mission, Chrono Cross, Live a Live (wtf) and Xenoblade 3? Incredible direct.

I only played a bit of Live a Live on an emulator. It had the reputation of a hidden gem that just never got localized when I was growing up, along with other SNES games like Bahamut Lagoon and Treasure Hunter G. Pretty cool and surprising this kind of project got a budget for a 2D-HD remake.

Xenoblade 3 definitely looks like it will tie together the stories of 1 and 2. Looks like the fanservice (boobs) have been toned down from the last installment which is probably for the best. The main character being named Noah shows they're not going for subtlety in their religious themes anytime soon. I can't believe its coming out this year.

Is there a fanbase more upset at their series popularity then Fire Emblem fans?

You would think the Warriors game was a damn war crime with how some are reacting.

I actually said a while ago that Three Houses would be perfect for a Dynasty Warriors-esque game. Some people want Ike/Roy to be in one of these but I mean meh...

But I also think some people were expecting remakes and/or a brand new entry in the series because of rumors.

If there was something else on the horizon then that’s one thing. They could have said hey the PoR/Radiant Dawn will be remade on the Switch but here’s this game to pass the time. It would have a huge reception. Issue is it feels like they are just like hey I know you want this but there’s this that you don’t want. As a huge FE fan, I find these hack and slash games to be cheap gimmicks.
