I would expect them to blow it out at E3.

I'm just hoping for a Megaman Battle Network collection.
E3 might not happen. They've cancelled in-person and there is no news on a virtual event. I think companies have realized they don't need to invest the marketing budget into E3. E3 was cool, but its sort of a relic of a prior era, where companies didn't have access to things like Youtube, Twitter, and Instagram to go directly to consumers.

Nintendo would still likely host an event around that time regardless if E3 is happening or not.

Probably, but Sony held off their big event this year until about 3 months after E3. Who knows how companies will handle it going forward if E3 is infact done.

Nah. Let things normalize a little post COVID. It’s a huge yearly event, the gaming industry would be foolish to drop it.

My brain will always jump to hopes for BotW2, but I highly doubt it’ll be a first half 2022 release, so I’m not going to be expecting it (except I will be hoping for it and thereby disappointed when they don’t show anything about it).

They have been advertising directs to focus on certain quarters, and always end up showing stuff off that comes later in the year or even the following year. I know at least one direct last year wasn't supposed to talk about 2022 at all and yet they talked about 2022 releases.

I imagine it will focus mostly on Kirby and Splatoon 3, but wouldn't surprise me if we get a BOTW2 title drop "right now it's still just called the sequel to breath of yhe wild"

I think the more likely Zelda news is WW and TP ports. Only major WiiU title they haven't ported yet

When arguably the biggest player of the last generation (Sony) has decided it wasn't worth going to it for like 4 years, I think it signified that it was in trouble. Covid just might be the death blow. Sucks for writers/podcasts/influencers and progammers/developers who used it for networking. When it's so easy to go direct to consumer with marketing now, it makes little sense for big publishers who have huge social media following to pay the premiums E3 has asked for.

Front Mission 1 and 2 is intriguing since they didn't get translated and released here, I was a fan of 3 on PS1 but 4 was blech. Chrono Cross remake could be good, it had some neat ideas for the time.

I love Mario Odyssey, so while I'm not gonna pre-order it and I'll wait for reviews, I'm very interested in this Kirby game.

Some more Kirby info, Earthbound (though with a major missed show stopper opportunity passed up for their continued inability to localize Mother 3), some new Mario Kart tracks, and that's about all I was interested in. Decent enough.
