I have no problem with trades and daydream discussions like this, but who is TOR shaving off to acquire his 3.75 million? Treliving will have to put Klingberg on waivers, buy him out, and then start considering major assets to move.

I'm not saying it's impossible, but it won't be a casual thing an any sense.

Treliving having to convince Shanny that they have to punt half of his main offseason acquisitions is not going to be fun.

TJ Brodie is a good regular season defender but the playoffs exacerbate his fear of physical play. Frail and anxious. Crumbles under a heavy forecheck.

he's been doing this in the current season, guy HATES contact, not a good quality for a D man imo..........

Lybushkin and Schenn aren't 20 minute defenders either. Look what Rielly was able to do with them.

You know what you're getting in Zadorov, and he's a perfect stay at home to put with Rielly..

Neither one of those guys spent time as a #2 with Rielly. They may have played occasional minutes but were never a #2. IIRC Lybuskin was a hot mess with Rielly.

Zadorov is a #5 on his best day, yeah he made a hit and scored a goal last night but that is probably two of the three highlights he will have this season, he is no better than Lilly. He is about 3 mil over paid.

Tanev might get you a 1st at the t/d and Zad is worth a 2nd at most , they might want to wait and hope there's a bidding war that get's them more but there's always a risk they get injured or there play drops off and they get less or nothing if injured

they can flip Brodie for a 2nd/3rd at the t/d and Berg might up his play so they can get something and if not they'll just let him walk

I think the deal value wise isn't too bad for either team and i don't like giving up more picks but we aren't going anywhere without improving our D .

can you add Gio to that package, make it a homecoming for 2.........

Hanifin would cost more than I'd be comfortable giving up.

Hey, let's think outside the business for a moment.

If Zadorov would be happy in Toronto, and a good move can be made to make this a good hockey trade why not do it.

Flames are not expected to be a threat to win anything this year. They have to think long term.

Only challenge is getting Cap balance.

What future are Leafs willing to give up?

I think if I’m Tre, I’m making this a bigger move than just one player.

I’m thinking about defense, the 4th line, our prospects who can step in, even goalies and signing Nylander if I’m the GM right now.

I think if this is happening and it drags out, that these teams are looking at a bigger deal. I wouldn’t mind a 10 player deal with the flames again

I'm not a big TJ Brodie guy but he can do well when he's put with the right partner.

That Muzzin-Brodie pairing was easily the best shutdown pairing we've had in the big 3 era, except it was too little too late when Muzzin's injury issues mounted.

It's terrible logic that's not even worth replying to. There was a bunch of that same belly aching about Schenn (and Lyubushkin the year before) being added to the D last year and it turns out adding those type of D has an undeniable positive effect on the D.
