I do love people using Kucherov being so far ahead of his teammates as an example. Tampa has much deeper scoring than Colorado. Yes, Mikko and Makar are superstars. And Nichushkin is better than his point total this year. But the drop off in scoring after Mikko and Makar is huge while Tampa has been much better balanced. Tampa has 5 players over 70 points this year (Kuch, Point, Stamkos, Hedman, Hagel) while Colorado has three (MacK, Rantanen, Makar). I'd say at the most the scoring has been about a wash teamwide for both squads. The talent around Kucherov is not so drastically inferior that it should be used to prop him up. Will be a close race either way.

139 vs 137 now. Kucherov has a game in hand and Colorado has a tough schedule - Winnipeg, Vegas, (b2b) Edmonton. I'll be shocked if MacKinnon somehow wins Art Ross.
McDavid will play Arizona 2x, San Jose I can easily see him scoring at least 10 points in these games so he has a better chance, but Kucherev is still the favorite.

Throw the book at Kucherov and jail his ass. This is the most blatant stealing of thunder I've ever seen. 11 assists in the last four games. If McDavid isn't back the next game Kucherov will get to 100 quicker, Tampa will play Ottawa at home, that's easily budgeting 2-4 assists for Kuch.

Greatest playmaking winger of all time and we have the luck to witness his wizardry, but instead we focus on his empty net points.
Saw a post of Biz on the Chiclets podcast calling Kuch a PP merchant. It takes someone 2 Bolts powerplay to figure out why it is so successful and who runs it. Kuches off the charts hockey IQ and elusiveness are the main reasons why, everything runs through him and is set up by him. Yet people are now even trying to spin his talent in a negative connotation.
