Kucherov hanging out in the neutral zone for 2-minute shifts every time the net is empty. McDavid is in his head. He knows he needs to resort to cheese to have any chance.
But what I like about Kucherov is his superior performance against top five teams. Someone else compiled the stats in another thread. While McDavid was actually performing way worse against top teams compared to Kucherov and Mackinnon. So there are many factors to take into account.

Anyway, this is the Art thread, so doesn't really matter against who and when. Awesome race! Can't pick a favourite.

Kucherov has 8 points in his last 5 and is last among the three over that stretch. MacKinnon with a casual 2ppg, not good enough. McDavid has 13. Sure feels like McDavid will take it. He's got one game in hand on Kucherov and two on MacKinnon. I'd love for him to go cold for a couple games but it's much more likely he gets 6.

There's so much volatility when guys are having 4 point nights regularly. One two game heater or cold streak changes the race entirely.

McJesus is inevitable at this point. Amazing race but there's no doubt he the most offensively gifted player in the league and he'll prove it down the stretch.

CRINGE holy smokes, did that sound slick in your head?
Are you 12? Posting CRINGE in all caps is about the cringiest cringe imaginable.

It sounded like a common retort to me, an unoriginal joking response that fit the context. You know, standard human communication.

Far too late, I have lost many loved ones to it. Big family, lot of funerals.

Either way, life is a terminal disease and your only choice is to laugh at how f***ed up it is.
It’s a certain sense of humour some don’t share but I get. My mom is 70 and just beat terminal cancer because she made jokes through it all.

I think that when you have three best scorers spaced one point apart from another with 127-126-125 and there's less than ten games to play it is certainly a very close race to the finish line! I think that our Tampa Bay Lightning Bolt Nikita Kucherov is very likely to win this time because of very high scoring.

MacKinnon: “Obviously, I want to win the scoring title, but I don't know if I will."

"If you just want points, you're not really going to get them," MacKinnon said. "You have to earn them and do things the right way to be successful. Obviously, I want to win the scoring title, but I don't know if I will. I'm just going to try to compete against myself and hopefully that gets the job done."

Agreed. He has the proven track record and at the quarter mark of the season, he can be given the benefit of the doubt that he is a real threat to snapping McDavid’s Art Ross streak. Surprise surprise, I still think McDavid takes it, but with the early hole, it will take most of the season.
This is a heck of a post from Nov 25th, when most had written McJesus off.

In the space of one day all of the three were atop the race at least momentarily and there was a short while when all of them had 125 points. This is legendary stuff. The different amount of games does take away some of the excitement if you ask me but at least the one in third place is the one with the most games in hand.

Wondering how big a factor the two clashes between Edmonton and Colorado are in the race. The Avs have been able to contain McD and the Oilers pretty well as of late -- though that's precisely where the games in hand come useful for McDavid.

So you think the guy that has blown like a 20 point lead over McDavid is the favourite lol? Interesting take.

You act like getting 120 is some big accomplishment in todays league
How many Ls can one person have in a single thread? You keep stacking them up

Those stats are compiled poorly, because it’s hard to account for how well an opponent is playing at the time of the matchup, who was in the lineup, was the backup on, was it on a back to back, was there implications to the standings, etc.

Basically they are useless.

Also Oilers played 6 games against top 10 opponents in their first 11 games.
