You act like getting 120 is some big accomplishment in todays league
It absolutely still is.

Since scoring increased in 2018.

McDavid x3
Kucherov x2
Draisaitl x1
MacKinnon x1

A total of 7 times in 5 seasons since it became possible again. Only 4 times by someone besides McDavid.

And it was you that specifically and loudly boasted that he couldn't do it.

It's an internet forum. You gotta take your lumps when you're wrong.

Injuries a side, I expect McDavid to wrap this up by the end of this season. MacKinnon and Kucherov are incredible players, but I see them fighting for second spot.

I’ll eat crow on the fact that I thought McDavid was out of the race, but I’m enjoying this final stretch a lot.

MacK could have a 50 goal season, McDavid could have 100 assists, and Kucherov could have 135+ points despite the next highest scorer on the Bolts currently having 81.

My heart says MacKinnon will win it, but my brain says it’s any of these guys who will take the crown.

So if McDavid finishes 3rd in scoring, it would be the worst finish of his career.

Excluding his rookie season.

Truly a remarkable player.
At this point, it's virtually certain that McDavid will finish top three in scoring. In all of the NHL history, only two players have ever topped that - Wayne Gretzky and Gordie Howe.

Yes - that means that McDavid, at age 27, will have at least as many top three scoring finishes as any of Crosby, Ovechkin, Jagr, Lemieux, Beliveau, Hull etc. And (not that it really matters, but just to add to the trivia) - they're all consecutive.

If he leads the league in assists (which seems virtually certain at this point) - he'll have led the league in assists more than every player in NHL history except for Gretzky.

We are potentially witnessing the next Gretzky/Lemieux/Howe/Orr kind of player, I just hope he can win a cup, because it would suck for a player of this magnitude to retire without a cup.

Kucherov hanging out in the neutral zone for 2-minute shifts every time the net is empty. McDavid is in his head. He knows he needs to resort to cheese to have any chance.

Every time you are like “one of these guys is starting to slip behind”…it’s like BOOM…automatic 4 or 5 point night.

I know each will say the right thing about it being a team game and the Cup is the real prize but I can’t help but get the feeling they know they are locked in what may be a pretty historically significant scoring race.
Mcdavid has said publicly that scoring points is important to him

Hmm interesting, this scoring points thing might just be valuable to winning!
Did you bother to read the post I was replying to?

I’d points is important to winning yourdthink your have more cups?

Is that a slight against him? Do Kuch and Mack think defense is more important than scoring points?
Did you bother to read the post I replied to, before you got all upset. The answer is no you didnt

There have only been 10 seasons in NHL history with 3+ players at 125 or more points.

1979 (Trottier 134, Dionne 130, Lafleur 129)
1980 (Gretzky 137, Dionne 137, Lafleur 125)
1981 (Gretzky 164, Dionne 135, Nilson 131)
1982 (Gretzky 212, Bossy, 147, Stastny 139, Maruk 136, Trottier 129)
1985 (Gretzky 208, Kurri 135, Hawerchuk 130, Dionne 126)
1986 (Gretzky 215, Lemieux 141, Coffey 138, Kurri 131)
1988 (Lemieux 168, Gretzky 149, Savard 131)
1989 (Lemieux 199, Gretzky 168, Yzerman 155, Nicholls 150)
1990 (Gretzky 142, Messier 129, Yzerman 127)
1993 (Lemieux 160, LaFontaine 148, Oates 142, Yzerman 137, Selanne 132, Turgeon 132, Mogilny 127, Gilmour 127, Robitaille 125)

Today we hit 11.
And there’s a decent chance that this season becomes the 3rd season with 3 players to score 140+ points.

It'll be an interesting race to the finish but honestly it's less impressive considering had McDavid been healthy all season it'd be basically the same as last year.

I think McDavid getting 100 assists in a season is more important to him, just to prove he can...just like scoring 60+ last year

winning another Art Ross would be the cherry on top

Maybe next year knowing he can do either....he'll ask him himself:
