With the way he’s playing I’m happy the Habs took the risk and signed him to a long term contract this last offseason. He’s going to live up to that contract.

If they Habs waited till he proved himself more, like some fans wanted, I think he could have got a higher AAV, with the trajectory he’s on.

That Contract will be viewed as one of the bargains in the league by end of season

We should have Toffoli instead of Suzuki if Pax accepted LA contract

Damn what a boss. We are witnessing the dawn of a new era boys and girls.

I remember when they were showing Suzuki's expression when markstrom was giving him an earful the first time he tried it.

He sort of gave a coy smile but didn't say anything back to markstrom. I guess that was his way of saying "I'll show you".

Anyways, it was just a good hockey move. Markstrom is a big guy who takes the angles away really well when he is at his best, so some creativity was needed to finish that play.

Markstrom probably viewed it as hot dogging or something.

I was skeptical and cynical of his contract earlier in the season. Not so much anymore. He's starting to carry this team on his shoulders which is a heckuva load right now. Hope more players see it fit to help him. I burst out with laughter when he scored that goal on Markstrom, I really did.

Yes Toffoli was part of the package, but the main piece was Gabriel Vilardi if the rumours are true...

So basically Tatar=Toffoli and Suzuki=Vilardi in that trade.

Happy we skipped that one. Vilardi is very talented and a big boy, but he has major injury concerns.

Wasn't it Jaret Anderson-Dolan ?

I haven't loved a Habs forward as much since Koivu. Take that statement any way you want.

Yup. If he finishes this year at a PPG he could have easily gotten 9+
