Robertson might be their best trade chip at the moment. Can he fetch a top 4D alone? I'm not sure. Kyle can add on if he feels the urgency to replace Muzzin.

Reasonable post. He doesn't have the value to go 1 for 1 for a top 4 with term. Centrepiece for a top 4 rental sure. Similar aged similar pedigree / potential/ growth track young d man sure. But not the proven thing.

But I really doubt the Leafs are looking to move him, way more value internally if he can stick in the top 6

The D+4 shtick is kind of cute, making it sound like being less than 2 months removed from turning 21 means he's over the hill as a prospect or something.

Using this D+4 timeline and applying it to his brother, he would have been about 15 games into his career at the same time. Was he considered not valuable then?

He probably wouldn’t have been considered proven then, and teams would wait till he’s played a whole season before trading a top 4 d for him. They would trade a defenceman with a similar record, potential, value to him but they wouldn’t trade someone proven until his brother had played more games. That or they would ask for more insurance like a 2nd in case he didn’t work out the way he has.

How am I supposed to react to a accusatory post like that?

I've felt that way before the season started, but you don't care.

Everyone is so on edge here it's not even funny. No one is even making conversation here. They just want to look for kinks in everyone's armor.

So when can make a post like this? After the trade deadline?

I never said it was specific to Charoit, just that the idea another team would have paid that much is ridiculous. The Canes were linked to Chairoit last year, they refused to pay a first for any rental. Not that hard to make a link there.

He looked like a legit top 6 talent beside JT and MM. I would imagine he's off the block until the TDL so they can see what they have.

It will depend on if he’s still in the lineup as a regular and producting.

I’m more concerned about the health than the production. He’s not the biggest dude and his bravery puts him in harms way a bit.

He’s a little like that Kase guy. Solid and skilled player when he’s healthy but his play style leads to some unhealthy outcomes for him.

We’ll see. His brother is a hell of a player for Dallas but Jason is a much bigger dude. Both appear to have the skills and hockey IQ to be top six wingers.

I’m not betting against his skill. He’s got that. He’ll need more defensive acumen but the offensive flair is there.

Kase's biggest problem was he'd skate with his head down and lead with his head. I think every head injury he had was his own fault, he'd stick his neck out and lean into guys as he's skating and essentially headbutt a guys shoulder and concuss himself.

Fair if you wanna see more out of him, I've seen quite a bit of him in the AHL and a small sample size in the NHL. I'm pretty comfortable calling him a top 6 winger with top line upside.

Preaching to the choir. He’s got higher end skill and good hockey sense.

His priority needs to be finding the balance between production and health.

I’m no TML fan. But this kid is a good player. Or has plenty of potential to be. He’s worth a middle pair guy if he can prove that out over the next several months.

Your GM Dubas is good at the draft. Something he doesn’t get enough credit for.

Robertson has some of those issues as well. He got trucked Vs Dallas and Winnipeg.
