16 ES goals in his first 87 career games as a U22 kid, averaging just 11 mins per game. It's no stretch at all to suggest he could be a 25-30 goal guy in the future. Maybe right away if given consistent top 9 and PP time.
It's a giant stretch.

First of all I didn't say "he's a future 30 goal scorer" either, although I wouldn't necessarily disagree with that prediction.

Under the right circumstances, maybe even on another roster, we could see Nick hit another level and possibly reach 30.

And, believe it or not, hitting that mark wouldn't necessarily make him the best player on the team, either. But he can certainly be a player many teams would love to add to the roster, which I thought was what we're talking about.
Exactly, he's scored a couple goals but between being a marginal NHLer at best and not being able to skate with his head up those opportunities you believe would make him a 30 goal scorer would be wildly damaging to the team.

Long time since we chatted last, years in fact.

As stated Robertson isn't really a need, not saying he doesn't have any value just not a need.

When Liljegren was drafted, going into that draft there was rumors the Jets were interested in drafting him potentially but never happened. Jets need top 4 RHD, not bottom pairing guys so depends how the Jets view his development & potential still would determine if they have interest in him still. I know with the Leafs he's had some ups & downs.

Yes, we've both gotten older lol.

Also noticing that the Jets are in fact, quite loaded at the wing.

Is Poink considered bottom pairing now or preparing for life afterwards? I know DeMelo was just re-upped and Morrissey-Demelo were fantastic.

I suspect the only other way this went through were if someone else were traded first such as a guy like Iafallo for a 2C

Tried to satisfy the trade requirements but probably not a great fit as trade partners.

I wouldn't say it's impossible, maybe unlikely but stranger things have happened. Wouldn't have pegged Hyman as a 50-goal scorer either, going into last season.

Having an older brother who's racked up 100pts in a season doesn't hurt Nick's profile, that's for sure.

If Dallas can find a way to bring him over on a cheap one-for-one deal, I'd be all for it.
How come none of his other linemates are able to score 50 then? He’s played with Hall, Eberle, Lucic, Kassian, and many other scrubs who never came close to 50 on his wing. Hyman is a heck of a hockey player, to his he scored 50 because of mcdavid is silly

They won't get proper value for him, so they are better off holding onto him and letting him play out the year.

Leafs have all the leverage here when it comes to Robertson and where he plays.
pretty much this, he also said he wouldnt sign with toronto, well he better sign an offersheet and hope leafs dont match. he literally has no ground to stand on here. likely reduced his playing time too if he signs

Leafs should have traded Robertson and a 2nd for Sam Bennett when that was on the table back in 2021.

I hope he goes to the Stars (Jason is there), Kings (hometown & favorite team growing up) or Ducks (other local team) and tears it up.

The thing is... it is literally the second largest community in every western Canadian city...

Just need to look at the amount of Jolly Bees.
The densest per capita concentration of Filipinos in North America is in Winnipeg. But you're right about most Western Canadian cities having large Filipino populations.

Winnipeg, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon, Regina..there’s a massive population of them.

Yes you are correct on all accounts, Pionk I like as a 3rd pairing PP specialist type of guy. This last year was not a good one for him defensively. I like his grit, hits at times, skating and puck movement......but he is not the greatest defensively/phyiscal battles in front of the net or corners due to his size.

Coaches all love Lafallo, hard worker, good defensively, scores in clutch moments often.....but a bit higher cap hit for his production then we like. Due to hit cap, yes it would be interesting to potentially trade him and bring in more two way production/points.

Josh & Demelo are magic together, amazing pairing and just work well together. 100% they will be paired together.

I read a lot of negative comments on Nick R mostly from Leafs fans, not sure how real they are or just sour grapes over his trade demand. When I've seen him play he's been "ok", not great but not terrible, I admit I wasn't ever analyzing his game during those games I watched him in.

If the Leafs run Robertson Matthews Marner, Robertson should sit and demand a trade. The 3rd wheel on that line is a career-killing position.
Quite possibly one of the worst takes on HF for a while - and that’s saying something.

Blues 2025 2nd & Sharks 2026 3rd probably. Maybe swap one of those with a B level prospect like Samuel Poulin
Not a chance the Penguins give you that.

I could see a swap with a prospect that it either signed cheap or waiver eligible. Perhaps Poulin or Puustinen. Poulin + Pit 3rd would be fine and realistic.

I could also see something like Kampf/Jarnkrok+Robertson for either of them as a means to help clear space. The Penguins then offer the like of Kampf/Jarnkrok, Eller, Acciari, Nieto for free to the entire league for waive them.

I would be interested in bringing him to NJ. We could use a shifty shooter that can play with pace.

Why not? Yeah, he'd get tougher opponents, but give him a legit playmaking 1C and he'd be filling the net.

I don't think it's really that obvious at all. The talent is there.
Would be hilarious trading him to NJ honestly. I would be down if we can get a decent return just for the laughs.

25-30 goals is a giant stretch when he scored 14 in 56 (20G pace) with limited ice time and no pp time?
If you feed him the opportunities to score that many goals you probably have a pretty bad team. Like Daniel Sprong or Andreas Athanasiou definitely have the talent to score 30 (and the latter one has done it once) but one must have a pretty terrible team to get them there.

Between great G/60 numbers, injury concerns and style of play, Athanasiou is like the perfect role model for him.
