Lol, yeah that's another iffy situation where Silent Stan strikes again Sexual assault is cracra, look up the Greenwood circumstance if you want to dislike people. He was recorded on the chick's phone with sexual assault but was somehow able to get dropped from the British court. Nuts.
Mason is an epic POS and if he ever plays again it better be in Saudi or China. I listened to that recording and I really wish I hadn’t. No one should ever be allowed to wear 11 for United again after Giggs and Greenwood…

They’re engaged now after she went back to him like her father clearly wanted. It’s all gross but that’s her choice. That’s why it got dropped cause she’s an uncooperative witness

That is awful to read, going freakin' back after all that stress? Psychologists did studies and they found that rape is the most stressful event someone can endure.

Just a couple things here: The fire department responds because they are trained in saving someone's life too and often can be the first on the scene. I have been in a situation where I had to call 911 for someone who was out cold and unresponsive and the fire department was the first on scene and able to determine she had to go to the hospital and had her ready to load in the ambulance as they arrived. That saved a life because there was no time to spare.

As for whatever happened with Nichushkin there is still a lot that we don't know but I know if I was good enough to play in the NHL I wouldn't want my teammate having the doctor check in on him at 3 pm the day of a game to find a woman so intoxicated that she has to go to the hospital. That is not the type of thing I would expect in the playoffs. Everyone makes mistakes but this one doesn't look good so far. I don't even care if she is or isn't a hooker. I would rather have players who treat the night before a playoff game as a night to get some rest and be in top shape and fully focused for the game. And I would venture to guess at least one player's wife asked if this is the type of stuff he does on the road. It's not a good situation.

Not sure what led to this situation but I would guess if it was an isolated case of a night out gone wrong the player involved would be back already after a conversation with the team.

If you were just trying to help someone out and make 6.5 million in annual salary book her a room and tell her that you have to get ready for your game tomorrow.

Since we don't even know what happened it's hard to comment on what Avs should say.

It might be a minor thing and it will blow over in a week, Nuke might be needing to go into the substance abuse program or Avs might considering trying to terminate a contract. Who knows? And in all three cases, talking publicly about it might be counterproductive.

These guys fire up their Instagram or Raya when they arrive to cities and line things up in seconds. Perhaps this girl was a sex worker but there’s no proof of that. That’s way less common than how these guys usually do things.
Are you saying she's a liar?

Exactly and there is nothing stating she was sex trafficked.

I personally think this whole 'escorted by security' thing may be being overblown.

They were the road team, they travel with security, especially after what happened to Kadri in St Louis. Russia is not the most beloved nation right now, so I am sure there is extra security around the team and its Russian players. Escorting a Russian player who is traveling alone to the airport seems logical to me.
I think the airport escort is superfluous if there is no issue. How hard is it to take a cab and board a plane? These guys move around town with no escort all the time.

Just a guess, but "Olga" may have gotten into Nuke's pain meds while he was taking a wizz--AFTER the two of them had been boozing it up for awhile. A bottle of Stoli later, she's on the verge of pulling an Amy Winehouse, when Avs team doctors & security show up, check on her condition, and call 911. Nuke's actually damn lucky she didn't stop breathing. However this went down, it was very, very stupid behavior by #13, and there's a real good chance his wife is gonna take his ass to the cleaners in divorce court if she can file here in the US.
She was not about to die as she was very combative.

And who was buddies with Theo since junior and played on multiple teams with him? Joe Sakic.

I know some are upset there's not more clarity in this situation, but I personally don't care. It doesn't help anyone and it's not like an injury situation they're leaving everyone in the dark with.

The takeaway for me here is that Joe is likely showing once again his class and putting Val's health and well being ahead of sport, when they could use him now more than ever.

Most if not every other team in the league would have swept this under the rug, and Val would still be playing, with us having no idea what happened. Val going missing is what tipped everyone off.
If the situation was as rosy as you paint it then why no statement that Nuke is going into rehab?

Which mean nothing. They line up I St. Petersburg by the thousands and beg sailors to take them out of there. They would do anything to come to NA and I mean anything or so I was told by a Canadian sailor
Well if a lone sailor told you that, it must be true.

And saying someone claiming that they were sex trafficked "means nothing" is a horrible thing to say and thank god law enforcement doesn't share a similar mindset.

It's insane to me that people here are ready to blame this woman when we have absolutely no hard facts. Thankfully it's only a small handful and it's been mainly the posters who aren't exactly known for their deep thinking and logical posts.

Nuke is not an alcoholic and does not need to go to a substance abuse program. Nuke only drinks vodka straight up on weekends and after the game if the game is won.

She never said she was sex trafficked and yes they go to St.Petersburg to get out. That's not new news

Personally I don't care what she really. Makes no difference to me

And they can't have any regrets right? But I guess since it's a woman her word is dirt right?
Sure they can and it has nothing to do with being a woman she was highly intoxicated.

People say things when they're scared to get arrested or deported

And here’s the thing. The basis of my argument isn’t really what they do or don’t owe us because I agree, we are entitled to nothing here. But there’s a right way and a wrong way to approach this from a PR perspective and the Avs are choosing not to handle it at all, and I think that’s a terrible mistake.
You're probably right. Given the national press is on it now (espn, etc), how much longer will they be able to employ that strategy?

You think the woman who says she regrets coming here and can't leave because her passport is being held by "someone bad" is scared of being deported? Do you even hear yourself?

It's one thing to want Nuke to somehow not being a total freaking idiot in this scenario, but to just assume she is lying with no logic is just asinine.
