Could this be why the younger Wassilyn agreed to report here. We promised to bring his brother into the organization if they got a chance. Is that something that might be promised?
It might’ve been promised but he’s probably 8th on the current depth chart

Probably just depth in case of injury which with this team is likely to happen

you already have better depth, trust me.

one had nothing to do with the other.

he should be much, much lower

Oh he most definitely is I just like don’t like one of the 8 D current on our roster so I put him ahead of that guy I haven’t even taken into consideration the guys we have drafted that aren’t on the roster

The Petes’ ‘extraordinary plan’ is grossly overstated. How many upside ‘06 & ‘08 players does that team have in place to compliment ‘07 at this time?
Kitchener is at another level in terms of recruitment ability.

Brantford, Flint, Guelph, Niagara are also positioned to have good teams in 2026-27; and there will likely others after this upcoming trade deadline.
It is waaay to early to anoint prohibitive favourites for 2026-27.
In 2026-2027 the Petes will have Brayden McCallum and Grayden Strohack as two of their three overagers. They will likely add another in the next two seasons. In regards to their 2008s they will have forwards, Colin Fitzgerald and Adam Levac and defencemen, Blake Gowan and Genc Ula into their third seasons and likely a few more who will join the team next year. Goaltender, Luka Gelinas will also be on the team. These players mixed with 2007s, Caden Taylor, Nico Addy, Aiden Taylor, Joseph Cadorian and Francis Parish at forward and Carson Cameron, Liam Ladds and Thanasi Martertette on defence and Masen Johnston in goal Petes have a good base to work with and will likely add other pieces in the next two years. It is hard to predict two years before the 2026-2027 season where teams are in their development.

is site now has several highly intelligent IceDog/OHL fans and there are many more non- hf registered former IceDog STHs reading the comments asking me “WTF are some of these people taking about”
A lot of us are just lurking in the background. Pass the popcorn while I take a sip of my beer.

Heads up! IceDog fan be prepared for more foolish desperation trades this year, in an attempt to lock down “by default” one of the last playoffs spots. Darren is currently in full “go for 8th” mode at the expense of his recently discarded rebuild plan (fyi not supported by all in the organization); doubling down on “Niagara should never have to go through a rebuild” and “the mandate right now is to make sure we make the playoffs”. Niagara’s delusional owner believes former STHs will return to celebrate the embarrassment (and cost) of this accomplishment.

His dearly departed STH aren't about to return to the fold based on further mortgaging the future for limping into eighth place, only to get swept in four games. Prepare for game attendance numbers to start with a 2.

Who’s being traded now and to where?

It’s not only the season ticket holders. A lot of casual fans are saying they are done with the IceDogs.

DD raised prices by a $1 last season and now this season has raised the prices by another $2. That will not help attendance.

I do think the numbers won’t be too bad as I can see them selling off tickets cheaply if attendance is low. Plus it seems the announced attendance is always over inflated.

The Icedogs do a horrible job of updating their website. On the tickets page, which is the page that shows up on Google when you search Niagara Icedogs, they still list the 2023-2024 prices. Plus the coaching changes where asst coach Damon Racicot was “promoted” to Senior Advisor and Marc Slawson being hired as an Assistant Coach still isn’t reflected on the hockey staff page. That announcement was made Sept 11.
