...a goalie they DON'T need. Only a trade, Niagara (Darren and Wes) would agree to.as far the pending eliasson trade it’ll be the pick and maybe the rights to the goalie that didn’t show up for them

It is puzzling as to why Eric He is not on the NYR OJHL roster, with all the rest of the players cut from IceDogs training camp.Any idea on where eric he is playing this year? Not listed on NYR ojhl roster and not on the icedogs pre season roster
I agree they don’t need him but that doesn’t matter cause he’s already signed in Europe so wouldn’t be a possibility till next year...a goalie they DON'T need. Only a trade, Niagara (Darren and Wes) would agree to.

Here is what the IceDogs paid for to acquire ONE 19 year old NHL drafted D (Bertucci). 07 Artem Frolov, 05 Urban Podrekar, 06 Hayden Reid, OSH 2 2025, PBO 2 2026, NB 3 2026, SBY 3 2027, OS 3 2027.by 2026-27

Since they foolishly traded ONE away already, they will need at least 2, maybe 3 if they have realistic plans to win an OHL championship and bid on the Mem-Cup.
Lets see what A.Gibson and M.Andronvski go for.
Here is what the IceDogs have "stock-piled" for 26-27 year as BUYERS or as Darren tells fans at the arena "we have LOTS of picks" hahaha
DRAFT CAPITAL
25: - , 3, 4, 4,
26: 2, 3, 4,
27: 2, 3, 4, 4
28: 2, 3, 4
…or what makes more sense 2 OA D and 1 OA F and strong core of 07 D and F. Maybe that makes more sense. The IceDogs might have 3-OA defensemen in Brauti, Cheynowski, & Virgilio; maybe, just maybe the team can acquire one ‘07 between now and January ‘27

Here is something that would actually be useful for you to provide IceDogs fansThree OA D makes a lot of sense. An OA F is not likely needed with Czata, Galiyanov, Roobroek, Crete, Wassylin probably making up 5/6 of the top 6. An OA G should not be needed if Hunphries and ‘07-import Kerkola pan out.
Thanks for that information!Doherty is a speedy F who's really struggled with consistency issues. Last Christmas it looked like he probably wouldn't be in the league much longer then he really picked it up towards the end of the season.
We were hoping he'd build off that but he's had a rather underwhelming camp & been passed over.
If he pieces it all together could definitely see him being a solid middle-6 winger.

Check the playoff rosters of the last 10 OHL championship teams and post how their 3 OAs were configured G, D and F.

Ok. So without answering my question, IceDogs got their answerThere is no need for me to look at that. I would take the best three three OA skaters over an OA goalie every time if I had them. If I had excellent 18-19 yr old forwards and three solid OA defenseme, perfect; good OA D are harder to come by than good OA F and good OA G.
You can sign an ELC and still be assigned to Junior.Ok. So without answering my question, IceDogs got their answer
And what if one of those 06s gets an ELC before 26-27 season or what if you have ZERO 07 D and only ONE 08 D for 26-27 or if you don’t have sufficient draft capital to add any impact players because it is being traded away to finish 8th in 24-25, instead of accumulating it for 26-27?
Not impossible (has happened on a few occasions) but it’s very rare for an NHL signed OA to return to the OHL. Certainly shouldn’t be banking or planning on that player returning. You can sign an ELC and still be assigned to Junior.
I feel like I missed something. Who is Kerkola? When did the Icedogs acquire him?Three OA D makes a lot of sense. No that’s the reported runour that icedogs will trade the right of eliasson to barrie for the rights of kerkolaI feel like I missed something. Who is Kerkola? When did the Icedogs acquire him?
Where’s he playing though when everyone is healthy I don’t see him having a spot in the lineupThanks for that information!
A few of my own personal 2022 scouting notes on Sean Doherty.
My ranking had him in the 40-45 range and a prospect with a high upside.
Sean Doherty F, Ajax-Pickering Raiders GTHL (5.10 / 165)
- Elite skater, excellent skating mechanics and exceptional acceleration and edge work
- Top speed is electric and can flat out fly.
- good goal scorer with a quick release
- solid two-way player with high-end playmaking abilities and puck control at top speed
Think cheynowski is the odd man out of those 3 for sure. Maybe they could flip him and picks for an 07 this year or next. No way do they keep 3 OA d men anyways for that yearThe IceDogs might have 3-OA defensemen in Brauti, Cheynowski, & Virgilio; maybe, just maybe the team can acquire one ‘07 between now and January ‘27
At the moment he’s F #12 and their 2nd R shot F, that they desperately needed. He’ll be a bottom 6 F. He a better skater (and player) than several players on this current roster. The Next one on the trade block when Bryant returns is not really that difficult a decision for Ben.Where’s he playing though when everyone is healthy I don’t see him having a spot in the lineup
I don’t think Ben’s got much say in this trade wise as for who’s on the block next once Bryant is back he’s not a forward but for me it’s FloresAt the moment he’s F #12 and their 2nd R shot F, that they desperately needed. Trust me they know which F is next when Bryant returns, provided there isn’t an injury.I don’t think Ben’s got much say in this trade wise as for who’s on the block next once Bryant is back he’s not a forward but for me it’s Flores
