Ok, so let me get this straight. Last year we trade a 2nd, two 3rd's and a 5th to get two local kids, One of whom was drafted in the 1st round and one in the 3rd round. After a year of mediocre play by the former 1st rounder and good solid D play by the 3rd rounder (we need dmen) we trade them for a 2027 5th round pick, a 6th, a 14th and a 15th.

They are local kids and they wanted out...that's a pretty strong message. New ownership please!

That’s one thing but tossing out a 2nd+ for an unproven 19 year old goalie who’s never been a starter? I’m not sure which deal is worse.

Ok here’s my Pepe Silva theory for this:

DD tells whoever is the acting GM to make ATROCIOUS trades to tank the team to kingdom come. Then when he is allowed back, he gets them back to 0.500 hockey and presents himself as the savior of Ice dogs hockey.

Or

Everyone involved with this franchise is a moron.

Either/or. Por que no los dos?
Kingpin , trying to translate thay last sentence with my small brain. Pork or lost dogs?

My dad and I have had seasons tickets since the day they moved here. This is the last time. And frankly, we are barely going to go this year.

As a hockey fan I love to be an armchair GM. But also very realistic that I would never actually do a better job than the qualified people in place. Having said that, even I would do better than this. Most of you would too. This guy is making Joey Burke suddenly look reasonable...

Oh, there is an easy answer but it's not to your question. The next trade will be the worst because he will be trading the next player that wants out and every GM knows it's coming. We should be able to stockpile 14th and 15th rounders for our OHL ready players.

As the fans disappear Niagara needs to acquire more late draft picks to draft the kids of rich GTHL parents who will toss money to the IceDogs owner.

Please be the beginning of an ownership change! Come on Bruce, make him an offer he can't refuse!
That is exactly what I am hoping for as well.

Ben Boudreau is spending time with his father in Hershey, Pa., this week and didn’t rule out the possibility of his dad perhaps joining the IceDogs in some capacity down the road.
“At 68 turning 69, I think he’s looking for a different approach. With me and my family coming back to St. Catharines, there will be 41 years of history in St. Catharines with the Boudreau name.
“I know he’s going to find a way to get involved. How that’s yet to play out, I’m not sure, but I know his support for me is unwavering and if I’m with the IceDogs, we’ll have all his support behind us 100 per cent.”

Maybe the new owner of the Ottawa Senator's sells his stake in the Montreal Canadiens then sells the Brantford Bulldogs to DD for the same price he paid for the IceDogs and DD sells IceDogs to Bruce for the same price he paid for the team. Few if any tax issues for DD and his team is now in his home town and Bruce is back in St. Catharines. Pipe dream I know but it would be nice to see.

Dedobbelaer would probably like to own a franchise in Brantford. A franchise there is probably worth ~$12M and Niagara ~$21M though.

If Bruce can make it happen, he should.

When the burke's first came in, Niagara did so well, especially considering the arena they worked with. If the team is run properly, you want find a lot of guys refusing to play there, and they have the ability to pack the arena.

It baffles me how two ownership groups fail to see that potential and choose to make it their own personal toy instead.
