Hamilton in the East makes no sense.
You can’t make any real logistical sense for the OHL, less sense with four divisions imo.

West: SSM, Saginaw, Flint, Sarnia, Windsor, London
Central: Owen Sound, Guelph, Kitchener, Hamilton, Niagara, Erie, Missassauga
Unfortunate: Barrie, Sudbury, North Bay, Oshawa, Peterborough, Kingston, Ottawa

Keep some SSM-SBY-NB, Barrie-OS, LDN-Kitchener, OTT-Hull rivalry games to off-set travel and unbalanced schedule. Three teams from each division plus a wildcard for the playoffs.
Soo, Flt, Sag, Sat, Win
OS, Lon, Gue, Kit, Ham
ERIE, Nia, Miss, Bar, Osh
Pet, Kin, Sud, OTT, NB

Soo, Flt, Sag, Sat, Win
OS, Lon, Gue, Kit, Ham
ERIE, Nia, Miss, Bar, Osh
Pet, Kin, Sud, OTT, NB
No easy way to slice it.

I thought Burns played well in his first game in the OHL. Made some outstanding saves but like any young goalie, got caught out of position a few times. All in all, a good start to his OHL career. Poor Rosie, I think he will be gone to another team for his overage year

Now that Bruce Boudreau has been fired in Vancouver, our owner should reach out and hire Bruce or sell him 49% of the team. Bruce would be a strong addition to the team and could perform the duties of GM or bring someone in who could be a GM.
Brantford 99's have 5 wins and the IceDogs have 8. That should tell you enough about the IceDogs GM.

That'd be huge for Niagara. Don't see why he personally would do it for 49% though. Would think it'd take more for him to get into junior hockey after such a long NHL career

1. The current owner is your classic narcissist. Knows he knows the greatest hockey mind and doesn't need help. I mean, just look at the performance of his OHL, Jr A and Jr B teams. He will not bring in anyone to be the GM.

2. The league would not approve even a partial sale right after a purchase

3. In DB's mind, even if they did approve a sale, now is not the time. This is (HOPEFULLY) rock bottom for the team from a hockey and financial perspective. The value will increase if the team improves. Although the relaity is the team could lose value if they keep stinking it up

4. Niagara will not get a Memorial Cup. The team will be terrible for the next 5 years, or as long as DB is in charge. So don't hold your breath

It was a better effort than the score might indicate...IceDogs are playing better just not enough talent. Darren, start recruiting hard! Get some top prospects to visit during games, the fanbase is awesome!

Brutal schedule ahead for the IceDogs...7 games in 11 nights! Feb 2,3,4...Feb 7,8...Feb 10,12...poor kids will be worn down and probably more injuries along the way.

I've been impressed by the support the team gets with as bad as they are. Some OHL markets draw less than half of that a night with good teams.

I was at the game last night and thought they played very well. North Bay has a lot of talent and 5 or 6 NHL draftees on their team. Being a Sabres fan and getting to see Bloom play was worth it. My hope the picks have this year hit and they start adding much needed talent on this team.

My only question is why has Niagara been such a hard draw for kids to play here. This goes back to the old owners.

Petes fan here -

You guys have THE goalie !

Amazing player -you’re so lucky you get to watch that talent every game
We've never seen Rosie play goal for a good team. Next year he is an over ager and likely the odd man out. He does have a tendency to lose concentration and let game get away from him.
