He led the team in points not goals he has playmaking ability but does give the puck away a ton week in the corner over all underwhelming for a high draft pick.
Do you think it's because he wasn't developed properly, or Niagara didn't recruit the right player ?

Why can I not simply ignore the train wreck in Niagara? WTF is going on? I feel drawn into this saga.

I want to see what happens next.

Deep down inside I want to see this franchise turn the corner and become the powerhouse it should be. They have all the elements needed to succeed. Jsut need the right person at the helm to rebuild the team on the ice.

New rink, great fanbase, beautiful surrounding area, and great brand. Well over half of the CHL would die for those elements.

It jsut seems like when they played in the old barn, the team had its collective shit together. Now that it has a solid foundation, everything has fallen apart. I just don’t get it.
Ownership play a part in any of this ?

Last year he did miss time with injury do not if it slowed his progress or just that type of player he is has for new owners maybe he wanted out that could have effected his game no,point in keeping a player who is not happy.

If I took over the team today, here would be my plan for next season. If they make good on the picks this summer, and make some sharp moves, the team could be decent next year and trending in the right direction.

Deadline - See if there's any value from trading Jesus, Keane & Rosenzweig and trade at least one of Agostinelli or Dann.

Summer - Make big on the two top 5 picks (bring in the two best players available that are willing to come to Niagara), as well as the high pick in the import draft. (Target a 17 or 18 year forward with high end skill).

Trades to consider

1) If there is a young 1st line driver available for picks, I'd make this deal. The team is severely lacking in dangerous offense, and you can't count on the 16 year olds.

2) A veteran 2nd pair dman. There aren't a lot of vets coming back next year.

*the key to any trades this summer is quality over quantity. The team is better off bringing in 1 or 2 high quality players, than moving assets for a bunch of guys who barely move the needle.

Key Returning Players

G - Flores (gives them a chance to win any night. Very underrated)

D - Cato (over-age, captain, steady presence)
D - Dionicio (easily the most talented player on the team)

F - Kevin He (I'm expecting a breakout year for him, Lots of talent)
F - Copeland (lots of skill there, I'd love to see him put it together)
F - Waddick - Has 2C potential if he takes the next step
F - Michaud (Overage, can play 2C)
F - Castle (19 year old vet who can score, potential deadline trade bait as young players increase their roles)
F - Lavoie (see above)

Other Potential Returning players

F - (one of Dann or Agostinelli as the last OA)
F - A Leblanc
F - Hull
F - Vermeulen
F - Podolioukh
D - J Leblanc
D - Vannetten
D - Wycisk

What’s the deal with Captain Cato?
Seriously, does he just not want to play hockey any longer?
Does not want to be an IceDog?
Second guessing his decision to play in the O?
Injured? Mental Health issues?

What’s the deal?

Agree with most of this with two exceptions: 1) Copeland is afraid on the ice and will not emerge as a player of any consequence; and 2) Dionicio...he is inconsistent.

Castle will be traded by deadline. He forced a trade to Niagara from Oshawa to play with Cooke and Fimis. Now that both those players are gone, he will be looking for a trade to a contender.

I understand your points on Copeland and Dionicio. However, even after the draft and some trades, they still probably make the roster better than whatever the alternative is. Especially Dionicio when looking at our D for next year.

You're probably right about Castle.

Is Niagara done now with player cards? Even if another player asked to be dealt Niagara can’t really replace him as they don’t have the player cards. What a bizarre season of trades with the is team. Would have been better to start the year with the same roster players they ended last year. All these deals have done nothing to improve them this year or next.

They have at least one left maybe two.

Their Memorial Cup bid is officially dead now (as if it wasn't already.)
No it not

Yes it absolutely is. It literally doesn't matter how nice the location or arena is at this point. The team will still be trash next season. Mediocre if they get SUPER lucky. The only way they get the bid is if the owner just flat out buys off the selection committee.
he’s less rich then people think

niagara ownership must be selling?

shipping out 18 year olds?

what's going on in Niagara?

I’m surprised it is player for player. And here I thought they were trying to reduce the roster size to make it so there would be less mouths to feed…..
