That's not even true. 5 years (which buys a UFA year) is the most common term for top-end post-ELC contracts throughout the cap era.Walks a guy into free agency lol

Seems a little fishy, may be something, may not be. But given the slimy rat nature of Dubas, it wouldn’t be shocking.I'm shocked anybody could think anything else. I'm not sure how people see two unrelated agents sharing an agency, and create this conspiracy theory about some massive, multi-year collusion scheme between Matthews and Dubas. Come on.
No.
Different agents, same firm, I see no conflicts.
Read the article. It doesn't matter that you personally see no conflict. It's undisputed that if two certified agents work for the same firm, that it is 100% a conflict.
The only thing that is potentially saving Dubas/the agent is that the agent was not NHLPA certified and thus not necessarily subjected to the same rules.
There we go boys, Iceman has f***ing nailed this guy to the cross. Proof positive.
That scenario is completely unethical .. i get what you are saying but i always thought you could setup chinese walls between agents at same agency .. i know 20 years when i bought one of my businesses i used a lawyer at Fraser Milner and old owner had another lawyer at Fraser Milner too .. i was told it was ok and things went fineWasserman presents Dubas with x contract proposal from a Leaf player. Wasserman says accept the offer and we will make sure you get a split of commissions and we will also lower any fees you might incur or waive them when using our services. In addition lower demands in future player negotiations.
This is where I think it is problem. I am not saying this is what happening. But this scenario could happen.
The optics are just as important as the truth; Sometimes even more important.
They'd have have to have asked for permission for sure, equally sure to have it granted. If Dubas is technically still employed by the Leafs, is he allowed to be talking with PIT and having meetings with Sid? Seems like we're gonna go ahead and need their first round pick right quick.
mastermind is debatable.Dubas has gone from being too nice and soft with everyone to an evil mastermind in the last few days, it has been fun to see people do a 180.
Now that's funnyNow the law is after him and he skips town. He must have been tipped off.

I don't know if you are actually capable of this but could you stop being a huge homer for two seconds and put down your Dubas coloured glasses? Thanks. Now, think from a Leafs fan perspective. Is it ideal that your GM has a agent he is close with at the same agency that the team's star player has an agent too in the leadup to one of the biggest contract negotiations the Leafs have ever faced? Forget what's in the actual black and white rules is this actually something that is in the Leaf's best interests? Of course not. And I don't want to hear that the two agents don't talk to each other at the agency lol no one is that naive. At the very least the optics are terrible and should not be encouraged. So no rules were broken... what's the issue?
Same with JTHmm the gm lays down for Matthews the player he shares an agent with
Fights Will and Mitch hammer and tongs
Seriously, I've heard and have had enough of the BS.
Do any of you ever wonder why no team post his PeeWee years have ever put a C on him.
Do you ever wonder why multiple players have punched, face washed, cross checked and generally roughed Matthews up and only once did any Leaf offer any pushback
How many of them over 11M ? Spoiler: 0That's not even true. 5 years (which buys a UFA year) is the most common term for top-end post-ELC contracts throughout the cap era.
Wasn't Kyle an agent himself?
