NHL.TV / Center Ice / ESPN+ Discussion - Part IV [See the warning in OP]

Both feeds for last nights Rangers-Blackhawks game are totally broken, the Chicago feed freezes up with about 4 minutes left in the 2nd and that is all you get, the progress bar says the game is almost five hours but you get nothing when scrolling forward. The feed for the less than two periods you could watch was constantly pixelating and glitching anyway. The MSG feed doesn't look to be any better.

The desktop version of NHL.tv says the feed is supposed to be 720p (which is horrible as a max resolution, the friggin crossbar looks jagged for crying out loud!) and looks to be 60 fps, but it still somehow looks worse than the youtube highlight package that is also 720p 60fps.

Is there any way to get a 1080p 60fps feed?

The quality for this years NHL.tv service is infuriatingly bad.

sn premium through firestick has been pretty good lately for isles games , especially when they use the msg feed

With as much as I watch the ESPN+ hockey, I hate the Burger King Song with a huge passion now. All of their ads currently could be used to torture someone without even laying a finger on them.

SN Now decided for some unknown reason that I couldn't stream the Leafs-Ducks game to my phone due to regional blackouts. Using cellular data, it somehow decided that Ottawa wasn't applicable as "Outside of Leafs Region" to watch the broadcast. Now that I've returned home to my own network, literally across the road I might add, I can watch the game fine.

Why is this service so unfathomably bad???

Have you actually had communication back and forth with them? I must have sent them 10-15 emails through their contact form and have yet to have even one response. This is the last year I sign up with them. They are utter garbage. Had to watch an entire game in 360p the other night. What year is this? 1995?
Yes, they sometimes reply but it often takes a week and solution takes a month or does not happen at all. And it seems that they don't really understand what is the problem they asked me several times with generic reply about version of browser etc. when that simply is not an issue. I mentioned the quality of the stream as well but with their current pace. We would be lucky if it solved come playoff time.
Unfortunately I am not sure if there any other legal options for me here in Europe.

I haven't received one reply and I've sent at least 10 email. There's been zero improvements and we're 1/3 into the season. I don't see why I'm paying for this garbage and this is definitely the last time I'm paying for it.

I guess the answer to my question is yes.

It's been like this two days in a row now, I'm really confused. I could go watch a 240p youtube hockey clip from 2006 on acid and still probably have a better understanding of what's going on in that video than trying to describe game events on last night's stream.
Nope, you're not the only one. The Altitude feeds have looked like this for me for the past two games. The Sabres feed last night was good. I have no idea what's the problem.

No this happens all the time. Now for example the NESN stream of the game between Bruins and Kings is not even possible to watch. And the Kings broadcast is much less choppy and even the resolution seems better but it is missing 10 minutes of the game in the first period.

New to this thread, but wanted to give my 2 cents on ESPN+. So far so good. Was an NHL TV subscriber previously. I live in the Washington DC metro area and follow two out-of-market teams - Carolina and Chicago - in which I rely HEAVILY in ESPN+ to see my teams. Other than a few glitches on occasion, I dont get the feed freeze like I sometimes did on NHL TV. Not a bad service!

Those commentators on ESPN+ for the Hawks game last night were BEYOND terrible. It was a lady who screeched like fingernails on a chalkboard when someone scored. I could care less if it is a M or F but those two need to be sent packing as they should be nowhere near a mic. Unless you are deaf. Had to mute the whole game.

Am I the only one dealing with this kind of picture quality bs?
Oiler-blues from Thursday night, oiler feed not available and blues feed had a lot of that. Had to switch to 'another source' bc the one I pay for was trash. Other source was great. Replay is missing most of the game too.

Lodged a complaint and no response again. Where does everyone send their complaints? I send mine using the form on the customer support page: Contact Us

Just a reminder this is all be design.

They want you back on the cable subscription wagon not on the streaming wagon

Anyone else have an issue with the absolute garbage app that is nhl.tv where the video glitches and then goes back about 5 seconds and replays. Does this constantly. And after about five or ten minutes you hit the live button and realize all the skipping has put you way behind the live play.

Unwatchable garbage.

Is it still stealing if I pay for this garbage and then go watch on a problem free stream 😀

Glad I was able to catch the final 5 minutes of the Leafs Lightening. Not.
Constant crashing glitching and just not even loading. F the NHL.

Exactly the same for me. One minute of real time action, a slight freeze, and then a replay of the last ten seconds. Every minute.

By the end of the period I’m about 5 minutes out of synch.

It’s brutal. I wrote them and got a canned response that they are continually trying to improve their app.

The goddamn idiots have brought back the static "video break in progress" (what kind of a goddamn oxymoron is that?!) screen, cutting off the announcers mid-sentence when going to breaks (just like back in October!), zero pre-game show, zero post-game show, likely also zero intermission content. F*** the NHL!:mad::mad:
