I wish he would too. At least we could judge these 'very good offers'. I doubt he will though. It's easier to drive-by troll than to put your reputation on the line by stating what you know, ironically. It's not like he's beholden to the Canucks organization.

Funny how he was more than willing to share details at least year's TDL when the Gillis was looking to dump Luongo's contract to Toronto.

The NTC really hurts us, if 29 teams could bid on Kesler I'm sure we'd get the return we're asking. Too bad our team is loaded with them and it looks like we may need to rebuild. Gillis is going to have to get creative because he might have really handcuffed himself.

Will be much easier to deal with them after another early playoff exit and Ray Shero scrambling to save his job.

I'll definitely find it easier to cheer against them, force them to pony up at the draft or at least drive up the price for a different team :)

Gillis and Kesler are trying to down play it, when a GM comes out and says yeah Canucks are looking to move Kesler it's going to rustle feathers with the other GM.

Anyone who hasn't been living under a rock for the last week knows the Canucks were taking calls on Kesler.

I don't believe that was the best offer, but since it was the only one reported publicly I guess its all we can go on....and if thats the best offer he was smart to say no IMO....but again, I don't believe its the best offer made. Regardless, I still have very little faith in Gillis to make a good deal even if he made the smart move today...mostly because I have no idea what his vision is going forward, or how quickly the wind will change it.

Turns out it might've actually been even worse...

Gary mason just said the offer from Pittsburgh was sutter and a first and 2nd rounder... Wow....

Just looking towards next year, ideally Shinkaruk comes in, absolutely jacked after 9 months of rehab, and forces his way onto the roster. Regardless of whether Kesler is dealt in the offseason, run a Shinkaruk-Horvat-Kassian third line and start developing them to play together as the second line ASAP. It'll give us something to cheer for in a down year, and it would ideally expedite the rebuild.

Only do this if, one, they force their way onto the roster, and two, you're willing, in the context of a rebuilding year, to let these kids grow like Kassian has this year. Don't punish them for every mistake, and accept that with their potential comes inexperience.

Plus, again, what exactly did the Bolts get? A guy they can't likely re-sign (rental) and a couple picks. And if they re-sign him, they have to give up a pick.

Look at the circumstances. MSL while still one of the top play but is 38 year old and picked only one team to be traded and whole world knew. MSL basically handcuffed Stevie Y. I don't think Callahan and 2015 1st and conditional 2nd isn't a bad deal considering the circumstance.
