They can have someone on standby that can’t practice like Canada did with Harley. Currently the US has 12 forwards and 6 D who are “healthy” so they are forced to use them.

I would say it’s definitely a learning experience and there will be expanded rosters for next time an event like this takes place. Maybe 8 or 9 D and at least 3 extra forwards?

I'd assume they will try to get Carlson on "standby" in Boston, NHL practices are allowed to resume today iirc so he's probably back from Cabo or wherever. Would be pretty shocked if they call on anyone other than him ...
