As a big hockey fan, but a fan of neither team with no skin in this OP.. that strikes me as an absurd overpayment by the Rangers.

The rangers don’t have enough depth on D to move Fox, especially for a winger. Brady is good but that price is way high.

I think it would take overpayment to get brady away from ottawa.

Brady is an upgrade over laff, othmann is likely a 3rd liner, and then fox is of course the crown jewel. Fox’s biggest asset is his ability to qb a pp and exit his own end which I believe we’d be able to find elsewhere.

So basically two of the best and most important things a defenseman can do in the NHL. And two things very few NHL defensemen do as well as Fox.

LaF + Othmann + 2025 1st for Brady is an interesting offer and I can see Ottawa saying no to it. Adding Fox to it is bananas though.
