What a way to start the game. Nice work by Hagel being the smaller guy, pretty even and gets the takedown to fire up the crowd even more. Talk about setting the the tone, both guys.

Agreed, Hockeyfights.com voters have it scored in favour of Tkachuk, and I just don’t see it, spirited bout, but not much landing and Tkachuk doesn’t even get the takedown of the smaller guy.

It wasn't as clear of a loss as his old man had to Claude Lemuiex in 96 but I still thought it was a L considering he fought a smaller, less experienced fighter and didn't do any damage while getting taken down.
