This sexual assault case is really weighing heavily on me. I keep thinking about the Capitals own version of this.

CAPITALS' KYPREOS SAYS HE SAW LIMO INCIDENT

Ciccarelli, Courtnall and Stevens are all reasonably high up in the Capitals pantheon but the fact that their own teammate says he saw them "struggling" with a 17 year old girl in a limo....

Absolutely disgusting.

I wish media or police or whoever would revisit this.
Yeah these things really put a damper on my hockey interest. Obviously these are rare cases but the culture that made them is still vibrant in certain podcasts etc.

It seems like a bad way to state "I'm glad I wasn't there and guilty by association"

I don't see anyone offering prices like we see here. I'd love to be wrong. We love Dowd and Lindgren but they aren't just going to return a 1st round pick unless someone is really desperate. If there was a 1st on the table that deal would have been done already.

I agree with you that i'd take 2nd + for one of Jensen/TvR. Perhaps even both. You may not get the price you like but that again opens up cap space for example to pick up a cap dump struggling D you hope will rebound and get an asset for it.

Mantha and Pacioretty should both be gone around the deadline, Max obviously only if he wants to. Pick up whatever you can there.

I'd dangle Kuemper hard too. You might have to take a short-term goalie cap dump back but someone might still want him. Perhaps Devils could send a pick if we took Vanecek back?

I'm not so sure about this. More teams are in the mix of winning the SC than the past due to parity. I mean if Gaustad can go for a first, anyone can. This should be an interesting TDL for the league. In my honest opinion, this will be a goalie market this year.

Get ready for the cost of ESPN+ to go up.

Injuries hitting teams hard again...

Matthew Poitras out for atleast rest of the regular season.

Mikhail Sergachev stretchered off last game and will likely be out long-term.

Sellers market keeps getting better.

I'd do CMM to Boston as a replacement if the price was right but i guess Boston doesn't have the best prospect pool.

Boston also doesn't have any of its first 3 round picks in the 2024 draft. The Capitals already have Boston's 2024 3rd and 2025 2nd.

I'm not opposed to shopping CMM for the right return, but Boston would be a difficult place to find that proper return.

Canes have fixed their goaltending (to a degree) but the Devils remain the team to target in the East as for goalie market.

They are 5 points out of a WC spot already after losing to another bubble team (Flames). Vitek .862 SV%.

Jack Hughes is back and that team even without Dougie Hamilton is still pretty good on paper... keep dangling that Lindgren <> Vanecek + 1st round pick -offer to their face and i think they will cave eventually. If not that then i'd target Kuemper <> Vanecek + pick -swap, if they prefer that. Either way, that would be a really good landing spot for either of our goalies and the Devils should be getting really desperate right about now. Their Playoff hopes are fading and they are only getting quality starts from their goalies in ~40% of the games. Really bad starts in ~30% of their games. It's really tough to win that way.

With them it's not even only about saving this season... they already know that Schmid likely can't be trusted for next season so they need to get a goalie somewhere. That's tough when you have Vanecek on the books for next season too.

I've thought the same about the Devils. CapFriendly is showing them to have about 7.4 in cap space. The likes of Kuemper and John Carlson would make sense for them. If not mistaken Carlson growing up in New Jersey, I believe the Devils was the team he had rooted for. Capitals would have to eat a bit of their contracts but it makes sense for the Devils. Carlson fills in for Hamilton and Kuemper gives them a solid goalie. The return costs would be at minimum two first and Chase Stillman because of the amount of contract we'd eat at our end to make it work for them.

not NHL but lol

The best part is going to the bench to give his teammates a high five and then immediately turning 90 degrees to go to the penalty box. No arguing with the ref, no protest, no throwing his arms up or making the “what did I do” pose… just acceptance.

Crazy the other team didn’t do anything. Good self discipline on their part, I would not have handled it with as much maturity

Disaster for the Penguins.

5-2 loss.

Jarry imploded.

Their only good trade piece in Guentzel left the game with an upper-body injury.
