Wow, the Oilers suck.
So do the Rangers!

After seeing them up 1-0 after 2 periods and then giving up 4 goals in 10 minutes I had to go and read the Rangers GDT. It was most enjoyable.

During the 2nd intermission they were praising Quick and saying Shesterkin has lost his starting job and will have to take a discount if he wants to stay with the Rangers.

They also said there is no way the Oilers will beat them because the team WANTS it and when they play like they WANT it they are unbeatable. It was comedy gold.

Then the 3rd period starts and in 10 minutes the Oilers are winning 4-1. And the Rangers are all a bunch of losers and bums and they have the worst D-corps in the league

Both on the back hand as well
Is there another way to do it? A forehand Michigan would blow my f***ing mind, that's so absurdly more difficult than following the momentum of a puck scoop that I don't even know how to translate it to real life.

Whoever does that gets goal of the century, Ovechkin Phoenix goal and all.

That's what 3 on 3 OT was supposed to be. Not this.....fiasco

You're not wrong but I assume for many teams it's a question of push for a win in OT to help with ROW or settle for not improving your ROW but getting the extra point if you can win in a shootout.

If you're a team like Washington and you have a monster in Kuemper in net with penalty shooters like Kuznetsov, Oshie, etc why wouldn't you play it safe in OT knowing you have a better chance than most of winning a shootout? 2 points > 1 point in any situation and circumstance.

Which is exactly in line with the "shootout specialist" argument that was made against the current system years ago.

Would be nice to have a player like Bedard in 3 on 3.
At this point it would be nice to have more than 2-3 players who are good enough to play on other teams top 6. They ain't winning these 1 goal games because they set out to. This is not strategy. They are doing what they can with what they got.

Samsonov has a save % of .798 and a GAA just under 6 in his last 4 starts and didn’t offer much resistance to the BJs last night

Averaging about .9 goals saved below average a game on the season (last in NHL, Vanecek 4th to last)
