What a heist for the Ducks.

Gauthier would propably be right on the top of the prospects outside of NHL rankings. Drysdale was a really good prospect back in the day but it's still unclear how he will pan out because he has lost a lot of development time since he's constantly hurt. It was only a matter of time before the other Ducks D prospects (who look brilliant) would have surpassed him in the depth chart like Mintyukov did.

Only played 10 games this season but... he hasn't looked good when i've seen him.

Good for Cutter. The draft is stupid so I think it's neat when a draftee tells the drafting team to piss off.

Drysdale is up there in terms of my overrated young players list. Maybe it's all because of injuries, but he's been unimpressive so far. No certainty he'll be healthy going forward either.

Unless Gauthier is a huge character concern then I give Anaheim the edge in this trade.
Yeah, but why?

Have a huge flyers fan who is a coworker was certainly entertained by the real time lame 'just a shadow of doubt' twitter debate. He's young so trying not to ruin a youngling draftnik prospect despite it being a non-Capitals one.

Drysdale is making his Flyers debut tonight. Wearing #9. On Pride Night. One year after the Provorov Pride Night disgrace.

I don't have any real knowledge about or opinion of Drysdale. But I love that kid on the left.

Sprong scores a hilarious goal on Sammy, who seemed to be thinking “if I don’t see it go in, it doesn’t count!”

Loser will be in the KHL soon enough. Maybe his pal Kuzy can join him.

Imagine being a plumber fresh out of plumbing school with a 4.0 GPA. In all of your previous service calls as an apprentice you quickly handled all of the literal shit thrown at you with care and ease. The professors at the plumbing school comment how you could go on to be the greatest plumber ever. Better than Mario Mario, better than even the famous Thomas Crapper.

Now imagine that instead of going on to live your lifelong dream of working for Royal Flush, the best plumbing company in the world located in New York City, you are instead forced to work for Judd & Sons in Winnipeg. Not only are you forced to work for a company you don't like, in a city you've never heard of, surrounded by people you can barely understand (Canadians), you also get paid 10% of what you'd make with Royal Flush for the pleasure of doing so! All so Judd and his disgusting sons Buck and Battleship can continue to rake in record profits as they begin to charge more to the poor prairie folk who need their toilets unclogged because of their unhealthy intake of moose burgers and Tim Horton's.

Doesn't seem very fair to me!

Again respect the opinion but most politely...

It wasn't that long ago that true free agency didn't really exist, so once you got drafted they controlled your rights, almost forever, in most all pro sports. Curt Flood took it to the supreme court to get real free agency adopted.

The only thing the keeps the draft legal is an anti trust exemption from Congress. Twabby is correct.

However, I get the reason for leagues trying to maintain competitive balance. That's essential to a healthy league, but still unfair to young players.

If no draft then you have no league and nobody gets paid, including the star rookies, because wealth consolidates and so does talent, which means the league collapses after all but 2-3 markets fail.

Chesterton's Fence applies. A lot more than it probably should these days.

Seems to me that the Premier League is doing pretty well for itself despite not having a draft!

The hard salary cap mitigates this somewhat.
