It does appear I had the thread ignored, lol. I have no reason why though. I have no issues with any Caps posters and last I checked my ignore was a Canes fan. Strange.

lol I should be more specific. After your post, I got an alert from said OP but it was a like.

I immediately went and quoted you, which makes no sense, with that "you know what you did" bit but that was me thinking I was taking the like alert and responding to it, lol

Can sort of read between the lines here.

The powers that be are very sensitive about speculation for some reason despite it being rampant everywhere else so not going to say exactly what I believe this is, but I would not be surprised if the "alcohol" comment implies exactly what you would expect regarding a macho hockey player and "inappropriate" behavior in the "workplace".

Am I allowed to say that much?

You would think that the NHL would be a little more transparent than this after the shit that went down in Chicago. I hope what Perry said is all there is to it but if there is more to this story and we find out down the road then the league should be in hot water, and rightfully so.

They played Schmid the day after making like 35+ saves in an OT win. Not sure if Vanecek is hurt, or just been that bad that they played Schmid b2b. But it ain’t 1978 - they couldn’t have just found someone else in the org to play the Sharks today? Bizarre.

With their D (made worse with D. Hamilton now out), and goaltending, it’s looking like a step back year for the Devs. Ofc they could still get hot and ultimately be in the mix in a muddled Metro.

Useless tidbit: During the PAC-12 Championship, the ESPN ticker said that SJ’s win was the biggest betting upset (+350) of the season so far.

Vanecek has been that bad.

But then again Schmid has been equally bad so it's bizarre.

.891 SV% and 3.27 GAA and you play this guy b2b? These stats propably aren't updated after Sharks game where he had 70% SV. Vanecek has similar stats but he does have 8-5-0 record while Schmid rocks 3-5-1.

Devils need a goalie. Badly.

I don’t think Vanny has been able to stop a puck consistently this entire calendar year. He was garbage most of the second half of last season, he completely imploded in the playoffs, and it looks like he has carried his playoff form into this season.

No idea why the Devils gave him that contract. This is who he is and who it appears he’ll always be. He’s small in the net and has streaks where he’s really hot but he doesn’t have the size or skill to be a consistent #1.

I wonder if someone like Markstrom could be on the move. Maybe Jake Allen. Or speaking of SJ, how about a homecoming for Blackwood in NJ, lol.

I know in the offseason they were supposedly targeting Helly. But the Jets are playing well - not sure if that’s still even a possibility.

It seems like NJ’s D is a huge part of the problem this year too though. I guess the departures of Graves and Severson were that impactful? Plus L. Hughes, as gifted as he is offensively, is going to be up and down defensively in his first full year. They even have Nemec playing now with Dougie Hamilton hurt.

In a vacuum sure but he doesn’t make a lot of sense here unless they plan to extend him. He’s a UFA at season’s end and is looking for a 4-5 year deal at age 34, according to some hockey media. Also he and Edmundson play the same type of game and Zadorov isn’t going to displace Sandin or Fever so either he or Edmundson would be sitting and a waste of draft picks.
