Holy crap! This Avalanche broadcast crew is UNBEARABLE.
But also, Nathan MacKinnon is such a player.

Easily a bottom three uniform in the league. For my money Anaheim, Nashville, and Columbus have the worst uniforms in the NHL. Next tier of bad would be Los Angeles, Washington, Colorado, and Winnipeg. The Preds really need to stop it with the yellow helmets over yellow sweaters. They look like skating bananas.
To me pasta has a strong argument for what he’s done in Boston. Far an away the best team in the league and he was an offensive force all year for them.View attachment 688941
At EvenStrenghPoints McDavid is on pair with the league, I can see someone else get 1st place votes.

interesting….looking back at Gretzky‘s top 3 seasons, 205 pts, 208, 215, his PP pts were 47,44,54.View attachment 688941

Oilers and McDavid somehow hacked league's power play. No wonder Oilers complained some time ago they don't get enough powerplays.interesting….looking back at Gretzky‘s top 3 seasons, 205 pts, 208, 215, his PP pts were 47,44,54.
McJebus feasted there with 71 PP pts….
where did i say that?
There's a thread on the mains already calling McD the 2nd-best player all time, and I can't roll my eyes far enough back in my head. He's fantastic, certainly the best player right now. He's also probably the best skater I've ever seen (butguys like Lafleur and Gartner were also phenomenal). When he's played a 20+ year career, won a championship or two, and climbed the all-time scoring list, then ok. But this rush to name the best guy today as a GOAT is bizarre to me. That's something athletes have to earn.interesting….looking back at Gretzky‘s top 3 seasons, 205 pts, 208, 215, his PP pts were 47,44,54.

unsustainable….
I'd like to see them lose in the finals. More painful, but yeah, can't have the Bolts or Leafs advancing too far.I think that's more of an open ended question...indicating it's hard to root for Boston given the RAT plays for them...even if they have Orlov/Hathaway.
I'm rooting for Boston, only to beat either Leafs or Lightning in 2nd round. Then i want them to lose in 4 in conference finals.

Mostly the very young who haven't seen the 80s and 90s. Talent is talent no matter what era and those guys then would score today. When I hear Messier etc talk about today's game I just roll my eyes at how they spew the current NHL propaganda. Messier knows he would succeed in this era, but he has to earn those checks.
The greats would only be that much better IMO.Ahh it’s just fun bar room arguments that happen now on the internet. The other factor is updated training/conditioning/equipment. My nephew is light years ahead of where I was entering high school. But I had wooden sticks and got three practices a week, only in winter months, up at the outdoor Wheaton regional park. My nephew has 150 dollar composites, summer programs, camps, skate training, on and on.
I’d love to see what Gartner would have done with some modern skates and sticks, and the youth programs they have now.
