The team is better off losing than winning now from a team well-being standpoint. Winning reduces their only remaining positive outcome for this season, which is draft position/lottery eligibility. So from that perspective I want them to maximize what they can gain from this season and am "rooting" for the tank. But from a game-by-game perspective, when they're on the ice, I'd always rather see them win then lose. These things can coexist, for me at least.

And given how 2023 was going, I'm very glad they made the tough call at the TDL and aren't in the Pens' spot right now.

(Side note: A few times now, tankathon has delivered the Pens their max draft bump, putting them ahead of the Caps and dropping the Caps a few spots to boot. If that happens IRL, I quit.)

Yeah I just checked and was surprised to see they've played Tampa 3 times this season and Samsonov hasn't been in net any of the games.

So he's completely untested against them going into the playoffs. Will be very interesting.

Very much on my mind, as well. Samsonov can be great, but I wouldn't call him a playoff performer yet. Brittle, too.

I mean, Vasilevsky v. Samsonov. That's not close, in my book.
As soon as he struggles, toronto media will swarm him too. A lot of pressure on a young inexperienced guy like him with the consequences of yet another potential leaf first round exit looming over them

Yay Aisles...their chances against the B's are slim. It's like watching four 4th lines trying to create offense.

Bye Pennies!

When was the last time the Pens, Flyers, and Caps all missed the playoffs?
