Hey at least somebody cares. I take that idiot over last 2 months of hard ons for losses and constant bickering over whether our chances of drafting bedard are 2%’or closer to 3.
...do you?

Just shows a less savvy interpretation of the same result, to me at least.

Imagine wishing we would all just scream into the wind and f*** bomb entire threads as opposed to rooting for something, anything positive even if it technically comes in the future.

Pittsburgh dead in the water on game 81 of the season against the worst team in the league.

The reaction of their fans is as expected LOL

Thanks for screenshotting this. I have that guy on ignore for being an obnoxious troll on the general boards, but seeing him spasm like this is incredible

Stopped caring about the Norris after Greenie got screwed. I’m in perpetual protest.
I still say that Green paved the way for Karlsson's Norris.

There goes Crosby's final chance to go to the Playoffs.

End of an era.

Should be an interesting last games ahead. Devils still have lots to play for.

Team A loads up for the playoffs and misses, which gives them just enough points to also have no chance in the draft lottery. They get nothing, and end the season on a down note losing anyway. The future is dim.

Team B sells at the deadline because they have no realistic shot at the playoffs with an injured team and stiff competition, but at least their suffering for 20 or so games could result in a lucky break at the draft lottery and will mean a better drafting position in general. There are assets acquired and possibilities for a retool.

Why would any savvy, "caring" fan want the first scenario instead of the second? Just to beat their chest and say "LOOK, ME GOOD FAN"?

Team A did get Mikael Granlund to help them long-term, though.

I don't envy the Penguins though. Will be very interesting to see what they do with Zucker and Dumoulin. I don't think they can afford to lose either one without an incoming upgrade but Zucker is having a good year and he just turned 31 and Dumoulin turns 32 before the next season starts. Those contracts will look ugly pretty soon.

I think the biggest question is what do they do in net? Jarry is still younger than anyone they can get in UFA but they may not have a choice but to move on. Varlamov? Quick? Andersen? Korpisalo? Could be forced to trade for one. A mid-first should be good for them but they need more youth and developing upside in the worst way.

But Mikael Granlund hurts them long term lol

Sullivan extension hasn’t even kicked in yet and they don’t have the personnel to play Sullivan hockey anymore. Tough spot. And then goaltending is gone too.

Pens were actually in a good spot, they had plenty of cap to work with last offseason before extending Rust, Letang, Malkin, and Rakell and now it’s…I dunno

Bottom line: Caps have been one of the worst teams in the league in 2023. They were winning maybe 3 in 10 games before the TDL and are about the same now. Selling was the smart thing to do. Rooting for the tank was also the smart thing to do.

The End.

Yeah i was kidding, that was a brutal trade.

1 goal and 5 points in 20 games. 2 more years @ 5 million.

Ouch.

“Good fans” (your term not mine) don’t need to say “look at me”….they just represent.

The cries of “don’t tell me how to be a fan“ are some fake ass shit IMO.

Nobody is telling anyone how….it’s about voicing displeasure at people wanting to see a team you love, lose. These aren’t the Shitskins with an evil MFer at the helm.

Hey, if we win the lotto, you can say “told ya so” I guess. I hope we do.

Fake ass shit to you maybe. But then again, you like to antagonize just to see what happens.

It gets old when someone is constantly droning on about it, so it’s real ass shit to me.

But whatever, right?

I think it’s a lame overreaction, but yeah whatever is right. Moving on.

I think they stay pat in net. They aren't overpaying, and they have a backup for 1 mil. Fix the guys in front of them.

I could see them bringing in a reclamation project like Nedeljkovic or Blackwood as a 2B/3A option, and seeing if they can end up in a tandem with Jarry. DeSmith is still under contract, but he's not so much of an excellent goaltender that you can't bring someone else in to challenge.

Or maybe they let Jarry walk, bring in a vet like you describe AND then bring in a reclamation.

You've got a win and you're in game for a New York franchise and it's the one NHL game played tonight not nationally televised. Last Wednesday Calgary/Winnipeg was the most important game and it was the only one of three games not televised, but at least that was smaller markets. This is just idiotic.

not quite, still need the Isles to win or get a point, don't feel like looking it up.

Either way Isles choking against the Caps and Canadiens would be hilarious.

Winning the lottery is not required to validate the stance. Getting in is the goal, as it's better than getting no chance at all and a middling pick.
