Ovi has the most goals in a season this century (or in the Cap Era, if you prefer to look at it that way). I’d say breaking that would be a big deal - not as much as 150+ pts, but still.

Ofc I’d prefer he not get to 65, but we shall see. Only one more to tie.

Not extrapolating anything re Ovi’s other achievements, just appreciating this historic season from McDavid as a hockey fan.

It's not even an NHL record, but I guess some are enamored by this....just not me.

When Ovie scored 65 in 07-08, the league average was 2.78 goals per game. This year it's 3.18, so 14% higher. Ovie's 65 is the equivalent to 74 this season.

I’m enjoying the hockey this year, so I don’t mind the higher scoring games.

It’s sucks that a lot of Ovies prime took place during a low scoring era, but at least we get to see Old Ovie put up points and chase Gretzky.

It’ll interesting to see if they give the Norris to a guy who’s -19 and doesn’t PK much.

I think 100 pts by a D in this era should lead to a Norris trophy for sure. Especially on a shit team like the Sharks, those other guys all did it on really strong teams with multiple all stars.

I kinda support this. Green was robbed but probably led the way for point producing Dmen to win the Norris.

I've always felt the Norris should go to the best overall D, not the most offensive. But I'm old... So I wouldn't be voting for Karlsson

I mostly agree, but if you’re in the 40+ goals 125+ point range….(Coffey/Orr)…I’m good with it. 40 goals is a ridiculous mark for a D….(48 PC/46 BO)…..
