I’m going Minnesota and Edmonton in the West and Toronto in the East. Boston I’ll be fine with because of Orlov and Hathaway and Bergeron and Krecji have always been two of my favorite non-Caps so if they both won the Cup and then rode off into retirement that would be cool.

Also those poor fans in Boston haven’t won a championship in like, 90 days. You have to feel for them.
Minnesota and Edmonton are good picks. Poor Minnesota fans, my dad has been tortured as a Vikings fan for decades. The people need something there. Edmonton - it's good when the stars win. Same goes for Toronto. Plus we need some Canadian teams to go deep this year for revenues

Boston I'm fine with too. All the metro teams can piss off, f*** the Rangers

If anyone has flown out of Boston's Logan Airport, one of their terminal security areas has all their pro sports championship banners hanging up where you wait in the line for security - there's a shitload, something like 38 of them. It quite pissed me off for the entire flight home.

Massholes.

Toronto you say? Well, they are the current day Caps i guess:)

Minny would be cool. Would love to see the most underrated of swedish d-men (Jonas Brodin) get a cup. Dude is like a wet blanket for opposing teams offense. Love guys like that.

It must be wild to be a Boston sports fan. For the older generations they got Bobby Orr and Larry Bird and Carl Yastrzemski and
now they’ve had all four pro teams win championships in the past 10 years or so. Waves and waves of all-time greats and championships.

Yep, I’ve seen it. The caveat is that the post ALL pro sports league championships. Not just the big 4, so it adds maybe 25-30% to the overall number. But still.

And to your point — the last 20yrs have been remarkable. I need to do a quick tally of the big 4……

Edit — since 2000, Boston fan has seen 12 Champions in the big 4, and an additional 7 runners up.

So 19 times Boston fan has had their teams in the Championship game/round/series. 19 in 23 years (nothing for 2023….YET)

Almost Canada
Wild, Jets, or Kings out West, but pretty much any of the West teams are fine except Edmonton and VGK.

Maybe New Jersey in the East. But I can't really root for any of the East teams, except when they're playing Pittsburgh in which case, Go Whoever Go!

This is not the way.
I remember when the Pens played the Flyers in 2012 playoffs I think, and I wondered who I would route for - and as soon as the series started my hate for the Pens was so much stronger than my hate for the Flyers.
You’re probably right, I’m being soft. My hatred for the Penguins has waned a bit since we beat them, I just really loathe Boston.

I mean, we beat them too, better and almost more embarrassingly. Honestly having a hard time finding it in me to hate them these days with Orlov over there and their general vibe of play right now. They aren't exactly the Bruins I learned to hate

It will be hilarious when the Penguins trail Panthers and Isles soon and are desperate for our help as we face them both in the last few games.

This is entirely reasonable. But Go Anybody vs. Pitt. It's just Caps fan DNA.
This. 53yrs old. 2 generations of Pens have rolled us. Some know Sid, Geno, Kris, Marc-Andre’.

I also knew Lemieux, Jagr, Murphy, Barasso. Stevens, ULF Samuelson, etc etc etc etc.

That team in the 90’s was better than their current version was…..and they’ve had it back to back? Imagine we get another Nick and Ovy in 2-3 yrs???

I’m serious.

f*** the Pens.

Bunch of spoiled bitches. Excuse me
