No worries we are adults here sometimes things get heated.

I kinda still wish they still had that completely unmoderated politics forum but the 2016 election murdered it. There was some smart posters/posts among the flaming/baiting/trolling.
There's a part of me that misses that hidden forum, but it was pretty awful. 95% of the posters there were beyond smug.

I do wish the general boards hadn't overcorrected on the politics talk after the politics forum was removed tho. They immediately shut down hockey-related politics discussions, like the Provorov threads recently.

(Although the entertainment boards allowed the Queen Elizabeth threads to remain up despite being an inherently political topic, although they removed any post even slightly critical of the English royals)

All right that is enough this has delved into so cleaning up this thread. If you continue face thread banning.
That's fair. Politics discussions always get out of hand no argument there. And its not like anyone of us is going to change the other ones mind.

I would like to thank you though for at least keeping the discussion there instead of just deleting everything you do not agree with (whatever that may be).

This went as expected to be honest and as it does with every contentious topic. We allowed conversation on the topic until it got too heated and devolved into personal attacks and politics and then we had to close the gym and send everyone home. It’ll be the same thing the next time!

The other thing to manage here is people want to use this thread to discuss other teams and other topics and if the last 4-5 pages of it are only around this one topic it doesn’t exactly provide a welcoming atmosphere for people to post or get information.

Seems like Max Pacioretty may have resulted his Achilles again. Went down last night with a non contact injury and had to be helped off. Just brutal to come back from an injury like his and last six games before injuring it again. Hoping he gets a positive update and it’s not as bad as it looked. This guy’s career has just been wrecked with injuries.

And the Blue Jackets stink. Not good for keeping Bedard out of the Metro. On pace for only 51 points and they blew a 3-0 lead last night to lose 5-3 to the Ducks of all teams who now have 5 (5!) regulation wins in 46 games.

You have to wonder about and feel for Elvis Merzlikins. He had a decent season last year behind a bad team but it doesn’t seem like he’s been the same since the death of Matiss Kivlenieks. He’s spoken openly about struggling with the goal cannon in Columbus after the accident. He is really struggling on the ice this year and his numbers have steadily declined the past few seasons. Disaster season for the Jackets given they’re spending $84M in cap space this year and they’re on pace to be historically bad.

Yea, but if they land Bedard (or Fantilli, Michkov, etc..) it’s not like they have a garbage team. Werenski, and Voracek will be back from injury, and you still have Johnny, and the remains of Laine.

So they could really springboard if they get Bedard (or another top 3 guy). Which sucks cause we need those guys out of the already too crowded Metro, lol. Go West, young men!

Fine. Don't wear it. Now we know who the bigot is.

See how it works?

It's not primacy it's support for people who still get attacked for the way they were born.

Think it's nothing? Well now it feels bad when the group is against you, doesn't it? Forces you to conform? Hmmm I wonder who knows what that's like...

If that bigotry didn't exist these things would not be needed. Don't reverse the cause and effect.
Some people simply don’t want to be told what to do (guilty).

Some people care about religion (not guilty).

Some people want to stir up crap (sometimes guilty).

Some people want to thumb authority (sometimes guilty).

Some people have some truly archaic beliefs (not guilty).

In the end everyone has a right — in this country — to believe that they want *as long as they don’t forcefully impose it on others*. Where is Provorov in all of the above? I don’t really know. Fact is, I don’t really care. He can believe whatever he wants to believe, and as long as he doesn’t break any laws, that’s his right.

YES, I get the whole “but you work for someone argument”. That’s true. However top employees constantly create their own rules in business. And the business accepts it due to the employees ability to add to the bottom dollar. This isn’t a pro sports thing, it’s a capitalism thing. It is what it is.

If Provorov was a 4th line scrub or AHL’er trying to make a mark, and chose his path? He’d get waived. But he’s not. Complicated it is, but that’s life these days.

I don't know, man. I'd rather see the best of the best come to our division. I want to compete against the very best.

With perhaps only a couple years left with Ovi, I generally agree. But mostly I hope the big ticket players like Bedard land with organizations that might not be able to keep them so we have a shot down the road. Don't get me wrong; I want all NHL franchises to thrive, just after we assemble our next core of the future. ;)

So no to the Habs, Hawks, Canucks, and Ducks. Yes to the Yotes, Jackets, and Sens.

If the Leafs lose in the first round again they might decide to move on from Sheldon Keefe. That would be a fun place for Boudreau to coach with all of that talent.

At least this Bruce thing is over in Vancouver now. Terrible handling by Rutherford. Even the press release is shit. Won’t be easy for Tockett to step into that room. Maybe they can get Bruce behind a mic somewhere and hope he gets another chance behind the bench.

Of course it’s just another retread. Not sure why Rick tocchet is such a catch that you gotta get him mid season.

I don’t like Rutherford. Very overrated GM. Just constantly making moves just to make moves. At least he inherited Crosby and Malkin in Pittsburgh.

And this all started because Vancouver hired Rutherford and Boudreau separately for whatever reason. And refused to fire Benning for as long as they did. Dumb ownership.
