I watched the game the announcers actually said he's on the roster so not a EBUG.
He's definitely an EBUG. He's playing for the University of Alberta.

Matt Berlin, an emergency backup goalie, played for the Edmonton Oilers in a 7-3 win against the Chicago Blackhawks at Rogers Place in Edmonton on Saturday.
"The whole day was a whirlwind, but the finish to the day was unbelievable," Berlin said. "Something I'll never forget for the rest of my life."
The 25-year-old, who is in his third season with the University of Alberta, signed an amateur tryout contract on an emergency basis earlier in the day after Stuart Skinner came down with an illness.

The first round pick is top 12 protected. Solid return for Vancouver and you’d assume they have an extension in place for Horvat otherwise that’s a disaster deal for the Islanders since they’re probably still out of it even after this trade. Would be kind of funny if the Isles are still out of it a month from now and they flip Horvat. If there’s an extension in place that’s a good fit for what the Isles need. I wonder if that pushes Barzal to the wing. Wouldn’t mind seeing the Caps bump Kuznetsov to the wing if they can’t move him.

Why get Horvat? Not understanding the NYI approach here when you have a perfectly fine 2C in Nelson.

Seems like another above average player that the isles will extend for way too long for way too much money. Good luck to them!

The only teams ranked lower than the Islanders in goals per game are Philly, Nashville, Montreal, Arizona, Chicago, Montreal, and Columbus. They have the second worst PP% ahead of only Montreal. For an older team with arguably the worst futures pipeline in the league that’s not the recipe for success… the company they’re keeping on the offensive front are all tanking hard for Bedard.
