No, you are entirely correct. It's supposed to be comfortable, not across the room 8 feet in the air. Our necks don't hinge like Pez dispensers.

My biggest TV pet peeve by a country mile: the people who don’t know they have motion smoothing on or don’t care. If you don’t know, allegory of the cave that shit. If you don’t care, I’m okay with sending these people to re-education camps. It looks horrific. HORRIFIC. Years back, I saw my friends’ parents watching their TV with it on (mounted obviously) and wanted to scream.

I mean the truly evil ones are the companies who make motion smoothing the factory default.

I don't mount TV's. I may make an exception for the bedroom. We'll see.

If I ever mount it'll be at a regular-ass level that you can sit and look straight at. This is simple basic logical ergonomics. You should not have to move your head to absorb the Air Disasters marathon.

My grandmother had a totally badass 70s all-in-one TV and stereo with tuner and record player. That was a TV Too Low though, you needed to tilt your head down just a bit to see it.
